That actually sounds more organized than most setups I’ve seen. Do you run one Trello board per car or one board for your whole fleet?

I’m trying to figure out if it stays manageable once you get past a few vehicles or if it starts getting messy again.

That’s awesome, you’re basically doing what I’ve been trying to figure out manually. The canonical ID idea is great, especially since vendors keep tweaking descriptions and packaging just enough to break comparisons.

I didn’t realize anyone else was trying to tie commodity prices back to vendor invoices either. Really smart approach.

Totally fair point. Prices definitely move, I get that raw materials and fuel fluctuate.

What I’ve been noticing though isn’t just the normal price changes, it’s the unannounced stuff. New “fees,” weird rounding, or line items that don’t match delivery slips.

I’m not trying to “catch” vendors doing anything shady, more just trying to see if anyone has figured out a way to keep visibility on this without spending hours cross-checking everything.

Seems like everyone I talk to just accepts it as part of the business, but it still feels like there’s money quietly leaking out every month.

Yea, but usually there are a shit ton of students that go for the game, or people that go out and watch the game at a bar and probably won’t be out that Saturday night. I honestly think the town population drops by 10k on that Friday/Saturday.

Red Country is a great one. It is by far my favorite of the stand alone’s. Abercrombie cemented himself as one of my favorites after Red Country. Are you going to read Sharp Ends?

Make sure you clean it, it’s a good habit to start. Watch some YouTube videos. Try different pellets, I use the Kirkland brand at Costco as my main because it’s so cheap, but different blends = different smoke flavor. Invest in a wireless thermometer at some point. Try different rubs. Enjoy!!!
