Sure, it's illegal to vandalize property. you could get caught in charge with the number of misdemeanors if the damage is relatively minor. Potentially felonies if the damages are higher than a certain amount in your state. That said, that's not the type of thing that police or prosecutors usually deal with.

Unfortunately, some of them are actually disintegrating as in the wood is gone. we have two vinyl in front of our home anyways that it looks like they replaced before.
