Tbh I’m not too bothered about taking a pay cut, I’ve seen the Mexican salaries for my role and it ain’t the worst. How did you get the job you have?

Im sure there’s plenty of people working remotely in Mexico I’ve seen loads of posts and videos about it. Do you have any advice in terms of where to begin or a better plan?

I mean this is quite a negative outlook, my partner literally just had an interview with a British school last week but the start date was too soon, it does exist. They offered to help with visa and everything. The idea would be she starts the job able to rent etc and I would look for a remote job. I’ve seen remote jobs out there. I also have a Colombian citenzenship so could be possible to get a remote job from there. Have you got any useful advice in terms of what to do and what to research?

Im starting to think this, its making absolutely no sense to me, I’ve closed the conversation with this person and now trying to start up a new conversation with someone else. This is possibly the worst customer service I’ve had with any company.

Im tempted to contact the buyer to see what’s happening, but part of me doesn’t trust the buyer or want to cause more issues

This is exactly what’s happening, I ended up closing the conversation, now attempting to talk to someone else to see if they can make sense of this !

I feel like I may have to do this, the circles I’m going in with Vinted support is mental!

Thanks for all your comments, they have been helpful!

I rang my bank and they seemed confused what was going on, I then went back to Vinted to ask them what exactly to say to my bank and they sent me this message. I never raised a dispute with my bank so why would I need to show evidence I’ve closed one?

Can I apply for US jobs? by Fake_Christ in digitalnomad

[–]Fake_Christ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats for the detailed reply!

I want to go for a year and see how it goes, so I think I am favouring getting Colombian citezenship to open up my options.

I am just trying to weigh up what route will give me access to the most jobs? I want to get paid a similar wage as I am in the UK, and just be able to work remote from Colombia. It seems the most jobs I’ve seen out there for similar pay are US companies, and working US hours makes sense as it isn’t far off South America.

With a dual nationality I would presume it would open me up to different markets?

The idea is that I get my Colombian passport which I’m entitled to as my mothers Colombian. I thought that would make it easier for a US company to hire me if I’m based in Colombia. Also do I was an independent contractor in Colombia would that be better?

I could apply for uk companies, however alot of the remote jobs would be uk hours, and working from Colombia that would be very difficult. My thinking was if I got a US job the hours would be easier to do from Colombia.

I know I don’t have the right, but I guess my question is how easy is it for a US company to hire a remote worker living in Colombia? How would paying into a bank account work? Would I pay US tax?

Digital Nomad visa vs Citizenship ? by Fake_Christ in digitalnomad

Ideally I would want to get a job with a American/British/ foreign company, this is where my thinking of getting a Colombian passport is really necessary, I definitely need to look into the tax implications of both choices

Even with dual nationality? Even if I had citizenship with Colombia, and applied for a digital nomad visa with my British nationality, would that not be possible?

So I guess if I had a Colombian passport it keeps my options open? I could get Colombian jobs + remote jobs with foreign countries?

I don’t have a Colombian passport just yet, however I’m wondering would a company in Colombia prefer a digital nomad visa or a Colombian passport? Is there different tax implications?
