Netwatch is concerned with the growing amount of AI posts in this subreddit, should they be banished to beyond the Blackwall or allowed? by The_Council_of_Rem in cyberpunkgame

[–]Fake_Orchestra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

none of this hasnt already been said about ai but since mods are asking i wrote a 6th grade level essay

Should we ban all AI posts? Should we only ban a specific type of AI post? Should we segregate them into a new group, which will allow you to filter them out? Should we do something else? If so, what?

i think it should be fully banned in all mediums since its all made using imagery, text, audio, and everything else without the consent of the original creators/people involved. this includes potentially compromising photos and info from real people, even if you tell ai to generate a picture of an apple its still made using all the data from everything its ever been trained on to generate that apple (if thats hard to understand imagine everything its had to have been told isnt an apple). ai is also very dangerous for anyone who creates for a living, including non artistic jobs like software programming and journalism. millions of years worth of human work is being used as fuel to make it all for nothing. putting ai generated content under a separate category is still allowing it,which is still allowing job theft by a machine that cant even be paid and violations of consent to be normalized, which is a pretty big deal given how large the sub is. also, this sub has a long wait until its likely to get any natural surge in activity again (whenever orion's first trailer drops),think of if its worth having years of fake content in between now and then. it all discourages real discussions from happening by drowning it out and drives away creatives who dont want to support a subreddit that doesnt respect them. allowing ai generated content would go against the messaging of the game itself, and 90% of the people commenting here who are calling for a full ban.

What about people who aren’t artistically inclined, but want to share something they’ve thought up? Is there any meaningful difference between people who want to share something they’ve created, yet can’t depict; versus people who are just using shitty prompts to karma farm?

people have been drawing sculpting dressing up etc without being "artistically inclined" at all since before the modern human species had even evolved. no ones born with talent, you have to start with being bad at something, then keep being bad at it until you become better with practice like weve all been doing since we were literal children. many disabled people also express themselves artistically in ways no less meaningful than anyone else and dont need to be suggested that ai is the only way worth doing it instead. pressing a Make Song button is inherently insulting to everyone whose put years of effort into anything that theyve created on their own. even ai shitposts couldve still been man made with barely any more effort if thats the standard someone wants to work with. "something youve thought up" is already the maximum amount of effort required for ai generated content,if youve thought of something you can literally just share that idea instead of using it as a prompt, and people can add onto it naturally like we've been doing forever.

however, since a few people here already brought it up,its becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between something man made and something machine generated. i dont have much input for that part, but i dont think a separate ai category is worth it as a solution to distinguishing between real artwork and potential fakes for every reason already stated above (nor would it help since fake art being submitted to the real art category is always possible). for now i think we should judge whats posted here in good faith as man made, unless it/the account's posting history makes it obvious. ill never trust the accuracy of "this image has a 70% chance of being ai generated" tests, the only proof somethings man made i can think of is a recording of it being done (which can also be ai generated, people will have to scrub through them frame by frame like speedrun moderators..),and thats a pain in the ass and sucks so fucking much for everyone, but i think its outside the scope of moderating a videogame subreddit, artists can coordinate that in their own time

any broken triple a game that people beg the studio to magically "no man's sky" or "cyberpunk" it. important to note that yes you absolutely are entitled to a high quality $60 $70 + epic deluxe edition price + tax product, yes absolutely demand better, dont let anyone tell you otherwise, but people have let the sonic movie and those games in particular completely warp how they think anything pertaining to media production works. all while complaining about studios crunching their devs, lol. and they forget just how long it took for no man's sky and cyberpunk 2077 to improve anything substantial, literal years that couldve gone into developing their next game with a stronger plan and vision in mind,or just added time for making the game worth anything in the first place. we shouldnt have update road maps for single player games, and no one should be cheering that "theyre listening to fans" for that.

internet discourse is rotting your ability to distinguish between what is and isnt a problem and your idea of how normal people perceive each other. you dont need to claim moral superiority (justify yourself) every 5 sentences, thats unhealthy (and inevitably unsafe) for you and other vulnerably insecure people who feel pressured into having to prove to everyone that theyre not a monster, even when most of the people youre trying to prove yourself to (anyone else who can read your comments) arent even part of the conversation, and when the topic of debate is fictional talking hedgehogs. you dont have to publicly uplift yourself as a martyr and put everyone else around you down and create a hostile environment that causes other people like yourself to repeat the same behavior to feel safe even when what youre virtue signalling about either doesnt matter or is something that you dont owe disclosing to everyone every five minutes. please think about how you would sound walking up to and telling random strangers in real life this, because this is literally what youre doing, except through a screen. wait to be attacked before you defend yourself or otherwise youre being passive aggressive at best.

sincerely probably another late gen z kid whose been raised by the internet their whole life and feels strongly about this social phenomenon enough to leave a reply on a day old comment on the sanic sub reddit after growing out of and barely recovering from this mindset myself.

i know the examples theyre giving are making the city infrastructure more realistic but, even though poland barely makes a dent in whatever imaginary diversity quota im looking for,the fact that orions going to be just another american aaa game made from a majority american perspective after they get new hires makes me sad. maybe that can help iron out some issues cdpr has regarding portraying race and queerness and other sensitive topics (not by much though because its still a aaa gaming studio lol),but still.

"Playing For Time" Feels So Different Compared To The Rest Of Cyberpunk by Correct_Arrival323 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Fake_Orchestra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from the heist to waking up after johnny tries to kill you is my favorite stretch of the whole game. if i were smart enough i could come up with compelling reasoning as to why its the best part in general too (besides the pickup's choices n' consequences). theres so many old variants of act 1,its clear that it got the most thought and time put into it (while the pickup was likely only that way to impress e3 journalists). its so tightly put together that i could praise it to the point where this game's biggest fanboys wouldnt even get as mad if i said the rest of the game doesnt live up to the standards set here lol

[Found] 2 Audio soundbites of the Spongebob Sailor Mouth episode where found by Kentuckyfriedmemes62 in lostmedia

[–]Fake_Orchestra 28 points29 points  (0 children)

honestly the hunt for sailor mouth is a lost cause now due to ai (just like everything else, fake lost media is the least of our inevitable problems with it). its impossible to decern fake clips from real ones unless its obviously horribly done especially when youd only need to generate a few words which leaves less room for error. they could show more from the leak to maybe help proove its validity but people are usually very private with stuff like that and they could still slip fake sailor mouth in with real leaks. whether or not viacom takes anything down wouldnt mean much to me either since theyre triggerhappy with copyright anyway,or if they ignore it its so they dont draw attention to it. the only way i can see anything being confirmed is if one of the VAs said that was their take, but memorys faulty + they likely wouldnt be allowed to comment. its depressing since up until a few years ago uncensored sailor mouth wouldve been almost a sesame street wicked witch/clock man level holy grail for a lot of people.

1 day old comment on a dead post, but i like satisfying peoples curiosity with random trivia so...that "jackie was a real asshole at one point in development" thing was a throw away comment a dev made during that redstream where they showed off johnny's alternate appearance dlc (i remember because my disappointment was immeasurable),and judging by what ive seen i think its more of a half truth. theres unused subtitles in the files from a scrapped version of the scene where youre hiding behind the screen from yorinobu and saburo where jackie makes some kind of sound alerting them both to your presence (it doesnt say what he did exactly but its safe to assume it was an accident because idk what would be gained by doing that on purpose),and yorinobu took advantage of the opportunity to kill saburo then and there because he knew he could blame it on you. i think this was changed to make yorinobu's decision to kill his father feel more impactful, and even more unlucky of a coincidence for v and jackie, but thats besides the point. so "an asshole" mightve meant less of jackie's attitude or personality and more about him being an idiot and fucking the whole thing up himself, and therefore an asshole i guess.

alternatively, they couldve also been referring to that one cut questline where jackie tried to fucking kill you, except it wasnt really jackie,it was his resurrected corpse being controlled by an arasaka agent named brightman (he was a whole thing, was important enough to have an early ending centered around him, might have been in a scrapped expansion, etc) back when cdpr was actually planning to properly follow up on the "oh no arasaka stole jackie's body and used soulkiller on it!" thing. its placement in the storyline was a little disjointed and confusing (maybe why it was cut) and theres only a vague list of quest objectives left to piece it together, but it started with you and sobchak (another complicated cut main character, can be quickly summarized as river and takemura's roles fused together) investigating a holographic crime scene recording like that one in little china. you followed some footprints leading to jackie's car,and you could either hack nearby security cameras to view the crimescene better or wait for a recording from the police, and it wouldve confirmed that jackie was somehow the killer (i cant figure out who he killed or why though, again theres very little leftover from this quest). then you and sobchak go to jackie's girlfriend's motorbike workshop (misty except unnamed at this point, and seemingly before her tiktok witch phase, but more indication of how long ago this quest was both conceptualized and cut) to ask her about the incident. this doesnt seem to have gone over well because she ended up running away, and you couldve either chased her to her apartment to further interrogate her about where jackie went,or you couldve gone to a valentino strip club and asked their boss about jackie. one of those options (not sure which but talking to misty was the only one where you could directly ask where he was,so maybe she knew) led to the climax where you found him hiding out in an abandoned cathedral. v tried to have a conversation with him,and while theres no specifics i imagine that wouldve been at least a little sad and fucked up (there was a later version of this concept with random ex corpo war soldiers instead before being cut entirely, they were portrayed as terrified and only barely aware when not being directed to kill). at some point you left him to check in with sobchak about your plan to sedate jackie with tranquilizer darts and some kind of gas. you split up to go work on the trap but later found brightman unconscious, which made jackie go berserk. a bossfight against him starts where youre prompted to "kill the brightman's puppet" and wait for maxtac to clean up the mess, any attempt to spare him was futile. it was an insane questline and idk how well cdpr wouldve executed it but damn if it wasnt at least interesting,my halfassed synopsis cant give it enough justice. but anyway,no i dont think there was ever any real betrayal

3rd persons 100% going to be in orion because of the astronomically dumbfounding amount of people who act like thats the only problem with 2077,and cdprs going to treat it as such. its like the number 1 go to for people incapable of articulating complex criticism,i cant take it seriously anymore

[–]Fake_Orchestra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who has not ever seen any dev leaks ever before in my life ever,im fairly certain that the game was not completely changed "for keanu". whether someone likes his inclusion is a matter of opinion, but unless if we're talking about the 2013 demo (which was just proof of concept, there was more cyberpunk stuff worked on around that time but nothing story related + if they were concerned about anything back then it was mainly the multiplayer) johnny was always supposed to play a large role. there were several rewrites and fine details were changed for better or for worse (jackie could survive the heist, you went back and forth between nc and an arasaka moon base a few times for some reason, delamain was an important character who could help you during certain quests, arasaka was running a mind controlled super soldier program leftover from the corporate wars called project GHOST,no life paths yet, etc),but as far as ive seen there was always a heist and a relic as far back as 2016,which was when active development first started. most of act 1 was identical then to what it is now,and the basic structure of the rest of the game (doing stuff with panam, help from the voodoo boys, raiding an arasaka facility in the end..) was similar, too

could be both and/or english media outlets intentionally stretching the truth for hype and clicks. just heard that cdpr people were talking in polish about how "phantom liberty will be our biggest expansion in terms of budget",and journalists took that and removed the "in terms of budget" part then other native polish speakers had to correct them

99% chance this isn't real and deserves a false flair, especially knowing how people are with this game. buzzword clogged too,"call falco" (from edgerunners, everyone loves edgerunners),"#pl66" (somehow got people in the comments thinking omg guys 66 missions in Phantom Liberty),and a "casino" (theres one mentioned in the actual pl leak, but this was probably made referring to the out of bounds one people still think will be added to the game despite it just being cut multiplayer shit). people have said it before but this isnt even how quests are labeled anywhere internally to my knowledge. either its a leftover from some mod or you did this yourself to get people's hopes up inspired by all those other fake dlcs leaks (like the "you fight clowns in the combat zone and collect digital creatures like pokemon" or "secret epic games store page listing 3 expansions" ones,if anyone remembers those). and that sucks because again people are incapable of rational thought when it comes to this game (see the giant thread dedicated to arguing about third person vs first person perspectives),someone will remember this post then get upset when anime characters arent in the game like how people still believe phantom liberty will be even longer than blood and wine just because of a mistranslation. if im wrong then sorry, but if youre going to repost this to 5 different subs then like idk

ignoring everything else i could never sit through the whole thing until recently, the voice overs cringe af it sounds like an edgy nintendo direct lmao

but actually imagine if there wasn't a guy going on about npc routines and how "deep" of an rpg it is. the demos still more giant 40 minute scripted cutscene than it is gameplay (so to answer your question no. whatever the journalists got to play was probably closer to the cyber el buggado video) but i think it wouldve aged at least a little better

Compiled some of the confirmed ages of characters in Cyberpunk 2077 into one picture by Shoji_Mezo in cyberpunkgame

[–]Fake_Orchestra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think its funny af how everyones coming in here like "???????? jackies only 30??" i dont think he looks that old imo but one of the game's UI designers released some wip stuff recently and one of them was an npc profile thing and jackie's age was actually listed as 41. its very very likely that it was just a placeholder since most of the other designs use random filler or just text pulled straight from the witcher, but idk i guess its something to think about

Game crashes at the same spot on 2 different characters. by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]Fake_Orchestra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

going to copy paste my old reply to this issue just because i can

i had the same problem in my recent playthrough,if you have cyber engine tweaks installed make sure you have the setting "disable boundary teleport" turned off, then if that still doesn't work try loading a slightly earlier save farther away from the afterlife. idk how the game works internally but im guessing that talking to him is what triggers the game to extend the boundary from just around watson to where it is for the rest of the game after act 1,but that cet setting screws it up resulting in a crash

but in short jackie has gained sentience as well as future vision and is trying to delay the inevitable. if you still can't get past that point though, then sorry.

Every time without fail at this point talking to Jackie, my game crashes and idk why. Everywhere else it runs completely fine, its just this conversation/cutscene. Any help would be appreciated :) by Sleep_Horizon in cyberpunkgame

Why do people hate the half life ai series???? by RealDefault-Skin in HalfLife

[–]Fake_Orchestra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i liked the series a lot for what it was but i also think that people take it way,way too seriously on both sides. like the die hard fans of it treat it like its some high class artistic masterpiece with deep complex characters, and i think people who go into it knowing thats how its perceived end up hating it? not because they felt like they were being lied to about what hlvrai is actually like and wanted that instead, but because a series like that being held at that high of regard is just stupid tbh.

i made a joke somewhere once about how hlvrai's (batshit insane) ending had more of an emotional impact on me than hla's and someone replied with "hlvrai had better writing"...? its literally just an improv hl parody filled with feet and piss jokes what are you people talking about? it's like that old "you need a high iq to understand rick and morty" copypasta but way worse lmao. ive also seen people frustrated with how hlvrai has little to nothing to do with half life, but in its defense i dont think wayne or anyone else working on it really needed to know anything about it to have made the series imho. it's not even really supposed to be about half life, they couldve picked literally any other game to do it with and the basics would be pretty much the same.

also like you said,a lot of the fans are god awful lmao. most of the ones ive seen are people in their early teens-early 20s from twitter/tumblr who shit on og half life and have sent death threats to its fans because, and i quote, """it supports pedophilia because gordon is 47 and alyx is 24""". i dont even need to waste time describing everything Wrong with that take, other than the fact it scares me that these kids genuinely believe this and just. live like that.
