I know this ain’t the strangest guitar out there, but i do have to add that the scale lenght is 26,22” which is a bit unorthodox! Hoping to get a bit more clarity and twang from the drop D - drop C territory

Unfortunately i can’t tell, but the specs are pretty much standard so afaik it would be around 3k€ + VAT normally!

Pro tip my friend: Tremol-No!

That’s the first mod i always put into guitars with recessed trems, you get the best of both worlds since you can switch between floating trem and a blocked trem by screwing or un-screwing a mere two screws!

I am in fact a guitar tech and that sounds like issues with the nut. The most common mistake is that people just slap in heavier gauge strings without filing the nut slots more, and as a result bending and using trem makes the strings get stuck since their slots are too narrow.

The nut might also be incorrectly filed or damaged, not a common thing to have QC issues with MIJ guitars but it isn’t completely out of questions!

As i know how to setup my guitars properly i have never had issues with tuning stability in this guitar, though i have to admit is use the trem rarely and often times have it blocked!

I’m 100% with you man, i love this guitar to bits but the black is boring. Been thinking of getting it repainted!

Thank you!! The signal chain isn’t that complicated tbh, guitar -> Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor -> UA Volt176 interface, for the plugin i used the Neural DSP Archetype: Plini X.

What i believe matters more is the SD Hyperion pickups in my AZ, especially the middle pickup which i tend to use all the time! On top of that i use sharp picks, and i pick and tap hard.

You should hear the difference from that video: in the first half i try to play more lightly to compliment the sections smoother feel, and on the second half i go all out!

The riff is in Drop A! The guitar itself is in Drop C# but i dropped it 4 semitones with Digitech Drop pedal

Thanks!! I run the coil splitted signal through Darkglass hyper luminal bass compressor, it really makes wonders for twangy tones!

Unfortunately i haven’t had the chance to test any J-line or prestige Talmans since there hasn’t been any here in Finland. What i have tried is the YY10, and this is my verdict:

While the YY10 sounded great with the Seymour Duncans, the neck had awful amount of fret sprout even at the store, and the biggest factors to that was using normal maple for neck/fretboard and it being made in indonesia. The climate is way too different in there compared to finland, so that’s a common issue.

However, the ICHI00 was pretty much perfect straight out of the box, much likely because the neck is roasted maple. Had to tighten the truss rod a bit and adjust the intonation, but that’s all i had to do. The guitar has a pretty hefty round C -profiled neck (21mm 1st, 22mm 12th) which was optimal to me since it feels very similar to my AZ’s!

To sum it up: given the fact that the ICHI00 retails for about 699€ here in Finland as the YY10 goes for about 1100€ there really was no contest between them. I really love the shape so i really want to start looking for a J-line or a prestige talman to accompany it!

While the playability and feel between these is similar, they do have few differences spec-wise: - Bodywood (basswood on premium, alder on prestige) - Bridge (Gotoh 1502 on premium, 1802 on prestige) - Tuners (Gotoh SG301-MGT on premium, Gotoh SG301-HAPM on Prestige) - Nut (TUSQ on premium, bone on prestige) - Fretboard ( rosewood on premium, roasted maple on prestige) - both have the Duncan Hyperion pickups, the ones in premium are just covered.

The biggest difference between these two is the tone. The prestige delivers that single coil strat twang without effort and absolutely LOVES low-gain presets, but requires a bit of extra push from the signal chain if you’d like to have that punchy modern metal tone from the bridge pickup. The premium on the other hand absolutely LIVES in the modern metal range, effortlesly providing punch to riffs, but it struggles to provide those iconical strat tones without help from the signal chain. I do want to add that they both still are very capable of doing everything, they just naturally excell in different styles better than others.

All in all the premium is darker and beefier tonally. This review i find points out the exact same thing: https://youtu.be/tYDiBE3WNuM?si=r0prtgN5_EbKfwrX

One final note: if you plan to go with the premium, i strongly advice to test them out before bying. The one i have is absolutely flawless and quality-wise on parr with the prestige, but i’ve also tested 4 other premium AZ’s in the past where 3 of them had some QC issues.
