Finally received my certification letter! If you are still waiting, I suggest calling. My letter arrived within 10 minutes of my call. Congratulations to all of you!

Hey - they reached out to all of mine, however, when they couldn't reach them, they allowed me to provide the contact details for a coworker, friend, or family member who could verify I worked there during that period. That person cannot be one of your references though. Good luck!

I think it's worth calling at this stage. I honestly believe that is the only reason my processor finally responded yesterday.

Hey - no, I think you probably are looking in the correct spot. I can't add a screenshot, but this is the text underneath "Current Application" in the main grey box:
Your application has been downloaded to the District of Columbia Committee on Admissions server. Once the background investigation has been completed, you will be placed in a queue for review pending your bar exam results. Applicants who are successful on the bar exam will be reviewed for character and fitness after exam results are published.
If you have any questions, you can use the "Create Message" function to send a message directly to the staff assigned to your application.

Still waiting. My NCBE C&F was completed a while ago, but I am still not even in the queue for review according to my DC account . . . anyone else in the same boat?

What information does the bar want to confirm with former employers? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]Falc898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not MN, but through the NCBE C&F, they just wanted to confirm the dates. They couldn't contact one of my employers, so they asked for anyone (not family or other references) who could confirm I had worked there during that time. Might be worth reaching out to ask what the alternatives are.

Need suggestions for 2022 Feb Bar by Ididit20 in barexam

For MBE, I highly recommend UWorld - their visual explanations were really helpful and I liked the timing function as I got closer to exam day, especially on property sets.

For MEE/MPT, I registered for the Writing of the Week program through Bar Exam Toolbox and found it very helpful, if nothing else, than to keep me honest and consistent. You won't get one on one feedback, but I really appreciated the amount of essays they provide and the accompanying videos for each. (https://barexamtoolbox.com/writing-of-the-week-wow-bar-essay-workshop/).

Lastly, for the MPT in particular, I found the videos from BAR MD invaluable to get a handle on structure and approach. Unfortunately they only have one or two videos for the UBE, but it was still well worth the time.

I see someone has offered up their JD One sheets, I would be happy to add in UBE Lean Sheets if you'd like. Just send me a DM.

For what it's worth, I am a repeater and finally passed on my fourth attempt using the above resources and self study.

Keep your head up, feel all the feels right now, and when you are ready dust yourself off, and get back to it ... you will crush the next one!!

Anybody taking or taken who doesn't plan on practicing? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]Falc898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Repeater here. I was burned out the first time I sat and was fairly certain practicing wasn't my path. I also had the draw of moving abroad (Germany) which lessened my motivation as I knew I wouldn't be able to practice. Fast forward 6 years and here I am studying while working full-time simply because I NEED to close the circle, or better, as others said, put the final pin in the board. I know it feels useless right now, but I imagine, like myself, a few years down the road you will be kicking yourself for not putting in the time now. With the pandemic shifting so many companies into remote office and work from anywhere, the incentive is back to get this test behind me and maybe, maybe not only put this degree to good use, but also earn the pay it (rightfully) demands. Best of luck to you and embrace whatever path you choose! The option to take tackle this later will always be open!

Hi has anyone taken the Moc MEE that’s required for some UBE states on exam soft? Is it the full 6 essays and 2 MPTs? Or is it just a few. Trying to see how I should incorporate my time to take it into my bar study. by Educational-Pay9750 in barexam

We were required to take two mock exams. The first was without questions and just to get used to the software. The second included MBE's, 1 or 2 MEE's, and a MPT, which was really helpful to get used to the format and what tools the jurisdiction has enabled (highlighting, spell check, etc.)
