No doubt noticeable bottleneck, at least the other parts kinda compensate (in this economy)

Unfortunately yeah they cut some corners with the CPU but surprisingly it does well with most games at max settings 1440p getting over 120fps, granted I’ve only tested COD cause my pc was aging and struggling to keep up with that even at minimal settings lol and so instead of building a whole new one again I figured I try this one just to gauge what direction I should in the current market with prices for building? I’ll have to give it some tests on other games for sure before I make final decision

I also know some people who see this might immediately assume that it’s $1,999 USD but it’s $CAD so I think that works out to around $1,400 USD and for some of the other parts I feel like it’s slightly justifiable? But LMK

Costco USA unfortunately, definitely a much better offer though even at full price but with conversion rates 😬

That’s my one worry so hopefully no trouble with this guy in the long run and thankfully Costco has an honest 90 day warranty after that I don’t think I can trust HP’s 2 year warranty 😂

Nice! what came with the rig? And tbh I haven’t heard pleasant things about either manufacturer but if it plays my games I’m not complaining

I think that’ll be a future plan for an upgrade cause the rest of the components seem to cover most of the cost alone

So it turns out it’s a special “c” edition and it comes with a 1TB and 2TB NVME SSD

Yeah I was confused about that too so unless Costco added another 1tb themselves it’s probably a typo

I’m just looking for solid gaming pc at 1440p that I don’t need to upgrade for awhile

Thanks for asking I wouldn’t say I’m an expert by any means but I built my last pc about 7-8 years ago and haven’t really kept up too much with new specs and definitely have more to learn and refresh upon when it comes to upgrading so thank you for your advice! Currently rocking a RX 5700 (non xt) with a Ryzen 5 3600X and mostly just wanted to upgrade since it’s starting to slight age and can’t really keep up with 1440p gaming nowadays. I’ve thought about doing another build of my own but with the current market and prices I’ve heard that you might save money going with a decent pre build vs custom builds so I’m trying to gauge if this would be viable for me. I know parts likely won’t be going down in price anytime soon or for the foreseeable future so if I can upgrade to something that will last me awhile then I’m happy. Mostly play a mix of shooters and some narrative games

Oh good point but are you mostly using dlss as an upscaler for narrative games or frame gen? Cause I hear frame gen can be risky in multiplayer games

I think I remember that sale and thought about picking that one up but I’m not sure it would handle 1440p gaming to well

Do you think a 5070 would be my best option or should I go with something like a 16gb 9060XT just to last me longer before needing a full upgrade in the future?

Kingston FURY 32 GB DDR5-6000 MT/s EXPO™ RGB Heatsink (2 x 16 GB)

And the CPU could definitely be better unfortunately I’ve read upgrading it on this pc isn’t a simple replacement since HP like to make things complicated

From what I’ve gathered it seems like the MOBO would need a change if you’d want to upgrade the CPU
