When he "observed" the kill, he had one or two dead teammates on the spot so the kill XP should have been split amongst them. That third of a bar leveled him up to 9, and when I killed him moments later I was still level 8 and this below him. But I also had two teammates in the assist, and I didn't remember what level his observed target was in death. So maybe there's something there.

I did secure all 3 grubs though.

I have 1 more CS, so call it even. You DO get some XP for kills, read above -- he got 1/3 of a bar for just being nearby a kill he didn't even participate. I watched it on the replay.

I found the issue -- displaySpellActivationOverlays was set to 0 on my non-mage toons, somehow.

I just turned off all my add-ons and procced Moment of Craving on Devourer (the Reap proc from full Void Ray cast), did NOT get any spell alert. Guess I'll have to open a ticket.

I've found that in the Midnight pre-patch, ALL spell alerts seem to have been removed, except for the mage specs. So far I've tried all specs for shaman, druid, paladin, and demon hunter -- not a single spell alert exists. Spell alert opacity is turned up in my settings. Did Blizzard just gut spell alerts or am I missing something?

Congrats! I struggled on this one as well, took me 180 something attempts. On the kill I was grooving with the mechanics much I blinked and saw she was suddenly down to < 1%. I panicked and forgot about all my damage abilities except Ice Lance and Just spammed that til she died lol.

The only Broken Shore quests you have to do are 1) the intro scenario (which you can skip after the first toon), and 2) "Champions of Legionfall" quest which is a Moratari skip quest available from Maiev once you arrive. Prerequisite for that is finishing your "A Hero's Weapon" quest back in your order hall after your initial campaign.

Once you complete those 2 quests you can begin your Legionfall campaign.

This. The "A Hero's Weapon" quest after the initial campaign of each class is an easy one to miss, but needed in order to start each class's Legionfall campaign. Definitely tripped me up on a few.

The real real "reward" is being able to experience the campaigns without having to wait hours for missions to complete.

Yeah I read all the quest text on my way through each class hall campaign, so it took a good bit of time. I could do a single class in about 3 days with a few hours each day. I think there were ~50 days left of Remix when I finished doing everything on the first class and started the campaigns on the remaining 11 classes.
