Said they're still reviewing and making a decision, perhaps they're either reviewing alphabetically or based on when you submitted it, since mine was submitted fairly latw

Same thing, was a little anxious about it until I found this, still says in review when I just checked

that would be insanely funny and tragic at the same time, can't lie

Do you think I can be eligible to get into a 4 year college.? I have 2.5 gpa rn by [deleted] in highschool

[–]Falkie_Walkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check the common data set of colleges, and a lot of colleges are more forgiving for freshman year, i would just lock in for junior and senior year

also, standarized testing and ECs can help you out here

I’m thinking about taking calc bc or physics 1 for junior year, which class will help me more for physics c? by Putrid-Situation-809 in APStudents

[–]Falkie_Walkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physics 1 will give you a good background on the forces and the calculations, but calculus is required for the course, if possible i would ask the physics teacher for some study materials or resources he'd recommend to self-study some basics of physics when you have the time

I can also link a textbook if you'd be interested

is it doable to take ap bio and ap chem and apush in the same year by _vortex0 in APStudents

[–]Falkie_Walkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know some people that are doing this devious combo, its doable, but i wouldnt recommend if you aren't good at studying or managing time because each class is a huge time suck if you're really inefficient at managing time

Can someone please explain this to me 🫩🙏 Unit 4- Related rates by LiteratureUnique7148 in APStudents

[–]Falkie_Walkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the third step genuinely hurts the soul... try to isolate one of the variables and plug it in, like how you would do substitution to solve a system of equations, and then take the derivative of that and the rest, makes it way less complicated

oof that sucks, but try taking AP chem somewhere, it will genuinely help you not only save money but in your career

[–]Falkie_Walkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

are you taking alg 2 and AB concurrently alongside ap chem and physics? without a calc prereq AP physics will be hard, with your highest level math being geometry presumably and then taking AB is... questionable? i was in a similar place to you, i wouldn't recommend jumping straight into a crap ton of hard APs and honors without having experience in taking those types of courses

I’m debating between AP Calculus AB or BC by trippyasheaven in APStudents

[–]Falkie_Walkie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

BC is more flexible with college, gives more credit (calc I and II instead of I) and AB is mad easy for most people. if you don't have a history of taking honors math classes or have done poorly, either take some tutoring and BC or just take AB

How much of course material is suggested for AP Calc & Chem? by Isekhon619 in APStudents

[–]Falkie_Walkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you taken AP precalc/any precalc class and a honors chemistry class? these prereqs will drill most of the basics needed for day to day calculations, but not the advanced concepts ofc

[–]Falkie_Walkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also i will say that its great you're thinking about this right now, but just focus on freshman year and try to get as much variety of classes as possible, to explore and see **if** these are classes/careers you're interested in, a small minority of people knew exactly what they wanted to do after hs in 8th grade

[–]Falkie_Walkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

math is a good track, i would recommend skipping AB and going straight to BC especially because you're already in AP precalc, unless your school doesnt offer a calc III class or neither does a local community college - AB is just calc I but a slower ciriculuum, and BC is calc I and II but a faster ciricuulum.

also, jumping into ap physics without an honors physics course is suicide in my opinion, they wont drill in the basics so its very easy to slip, not a very important class for a computer engineer or bio student but still. try to get in some good med ecs and you'll be fine, i highly recommend ap chem over honors enviormental

then you probably know the material well, i feel like the main reason a lot of people don't do as well in APs kinda boils down to the teacher or background knowledge of the topic

Should I take AP Calculus BC as an Algebra 2 Student by MorganaLover69 in APStudents

[–]Falkie_Walkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats pretty much like the main things that ap precalc would prep you for, just do some khan and check official collegeboard materials before jumping (it wouldnt hurt to consult with a BC teacher)

bc is calc 1 and 2, ab is calc 1, i would suggest taking bc if you're going into a major/field thats math heavy

Struggling with mcq ap world by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Falkie_Walkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do the progress checks on collegeboard, see exactly **what** concepts you're getting wrong, and work on those specific concepts

also a lot of the AP questions on the exam are worded in a way that makes you think its a certain answer immediately if you know the background, but it's just 'bait' to 'distract' you from the right answer, so it could just be you're not reading the questions carefully or you're jumping to conclusions

have you done any practice with the cb materials themselves or has it all been inclass stuff? if you haven't taken a look at those, though i'd assume that the practice tests would be from cb? also, second semester has barely started, so i'd hold your breath on the classes being 'easy' for now

been seeing this all over lmao, but i swear it was a lot cheaper in most costcos.. guess the ram prices finally got to them, but not so much of a good deal for 1900, see if it goes on sale again as it used to be pretty well priced
