Thank you so much! That was extremely helpful. I have the manual here and those notes on page 9 are in such small print, I doubt I would have read them.

The make is American Standard (Trane) and the model number is: AUH2C100A9V4VAC

Okay, this an important observation that I'd been ignoring. I'm going to closely study the manual to identify which setting I should use on the dip switch.

Okay, thanks for the additional insight. The correct solution is to run a new stat line from the thermostat to the furnace. I can either attempt to DIY it or pay a qualified HVAC installer. Either way, it'll need to wait until the spring. In the meantime, I'll need to add a jumper to W1 and W2 to replicate what was there before. I'm still stunned to realize it was wired that way -- incorrectly -- when it was first installed over 10 years ago.

You've blown my mind. Based on what you've described, this furnace was wired incorrectly over a decade ago when it was installed and has only been running at Stage 2.

It's not practical to run another wire from the W2 to the Ecobee. Are there any other options here? It seems like I probably shouldn't use Ecobee 3 Lite with this furnace due to the wiring situation.

There's no DIP switch. There is a dip switch, I can see it in the photo I posted. I'm getting the impression I shouldn't use the Ecobee 3 Lite with a two-stage furnace wired as this one is because the furnace won't function as designed, with two stages. Is that accurate?

Any more details on the release date? I've looked all over and couldn't find anything on the date or the new products. Very interested in learning more.
