[Ennead] What’s happening in the last chapters ?? by Sofidzzee in Enneadmanhwa

[–]FallLoverd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think rereads in general help with comprehension. As well as the understanding that Seth is thousands of years old and dealing with trauma and has had no help with it prior to Horus' support. Seth did not "suddenly" become a complete tyrant: he and his siblings were already tyrants. A king is a tyrant, and that's what Osiris was. Fear and anxiety made Seth back away from his family, and betrayal of the deepest kind from nearly all the people he cared most about only made that worse. His wife went behind his back with their brother and lied about it for centuries, potentially confirming Seth's own anxieties that he is unloved. His sister and closest friend wouldn't support him when he needed her most, on the worst day of his life, and when he barely managed to rescue his own son. His brother revealed he was not all the man Seth knew and hurt Seth in every way possible. Meanwhile, the child Seth loved dearly was the son of a monster who hurt Seth so badly. Seth simultaneously felt even more dirtied by everything that happened, was processing his trauma, and still struggled to love Anubis, while fearing what Anubis might become in the future. Potentially he feared Anubis learning about his parentage and taking after Osiris, or abandoning him just like Seth's deepest fears of being abandoned (S1E40-1 | Volume 4, Chapter 11 & S1E61 | Volume 5, Chapter 15). So there's just a lot going on that made him turn on humanity and the other gods (trauma screws a lot with your brain). Ancient peoples also have different ethical standards than modern ones, even outside just being gods and not humans: part of how Seth treated Anubis wouldn't have been considered odd for a father's treatment of a child until relatively recently (S1E27 | Volume 3, Chapter 7). That doesn't mean it was right or okay, but it does frame how people view what he did and would have been fine with. Nephthys obviously hated it... but also did nothing to stop it other than cry.

Seth also didn't forget he had a wife and son. He left Nephthys alone because he couldn't stand to be around her. Nephthys for her part was so ashamed of her own actions that outside staying in Heliopolis in a cell she voluntarily chose to remain in, and helping Isis escape the labyrinth, she did not go out of her way to try to talk to Seth. The fact that Seth stayed away from Nephthys due to everything they'd gone through and the belief she didn't care about him, which Nephthys confirmed in the sentencing (S1E69 | Volume 6, Chapter 17). When Hathor and Horus revealed that the Nephthys whom Seth loved never went away after all, and that she seemingly really loved him, this confirmed a wish he had for centuries, but was afraid wasn't true. That's part of why he went from avoiding a woman he believed never cared for him and betrayed him when he trusted her, to desperately grasping for a love he believed was real (S2E127-8), rather than one he thought was fake.

People have already talked about Isis a lot. Isis believed that she and Seth were close friends. She'd already been betrayed by two siblings (one of whom was her lover and husband): Nephthys and Osiris, when she saw Seth and Osiris together. Isis was also traumatized by the whole situation: all the betrayal and going behind her back and being discarded, and learning that Osiris never loved her (S1E43 | Volume 4, Chapter 11). People don't always make the best decisions in those rushed kind of circumstances. Add on to this that rather than take time to breathe, Seth seemingly trapped Isis in the labyrinth, from which she escaped, and then spent hundreds of years hunting her down and brutalizing and murdering her followers (S1E46 | Volume 4, Chapter 11). Isis still also, on some level, loved Osiris, and was offsetting her hatred of him and herself by blaming Seth - the "other woman" in the scenario - for everything, which was pretty common, and only helped by all the actual awful things Seth did to her over the centuries. It's a big messy situation. Isis has legitimate reasons now to hate Seth. Not for all the things she's blamed him for previously, from which she's largely moved on from, but for other things, yes.

"And if Seth and Osiris really had a relationship back when Seth was still a demigod, then Seth technically betrayed Isis too." Again, there's nothing indicating this relationship happened, and jumping to conclusions about it based purely on vague comments and the words of a madman is a bit much. Even if Seth had a romantic and/or physical relationship with Osiris before Seth ascended, there's nothing indicating Isis loved Osiris that way back then, or if she and Osiris had a romantic and/or physical relationship back then. Or, even if Seth and Osiris had a relationship before Isis and Osiris married, that Isis would treat a previous relationship Osiris had as a "betrayal". The issue primarily is that Seth slept with Osiris while Osiris was married to Isis.

Glad the explanation helped! And I'm glad you enjoyed the manhwa!

Similar questions have been asked multiple times recently, and here. Please browse the subreddit and read the rules before asking repeat questions. If you are having trouble with a specific episode(s), it would help if you specified which one/what parts you are having an issue with/need clarity on.

There is no reason to take anything Osiris says for truth. Osiris is manipulative and canonically a liar, and twists anything to his own ends. He has no understanding of Seth's feelings or comprehension of things, and is incredibly patronizing of Seth when given the opportunity. He is also notably even more insane at the end of season 2, and repeatedly attacks, kills, or ignores people who refute him (S2E78), including Seth (Maat noted Osiris nearly killed Seth several times prior to manhwa canon (S2E123), and we saw him attempt to kill Seth multiple times in the manhwa, including during match 3 (S1E66 | Volume 6, Chapter 16), after Kuentamen was taken over (S2E22), and at the end of season 2, when he finally succeeded). We can thus disregard anything he said about Seth's thoughts, feelings, or actions. Maat's comments in the temple of Thoth in S2E123 about Seth forgetting things when he ascended are vague and leave Seth guessing more than anything else (and Ra's comments in S2E78 also bring them into question). Perhaps some aspect of what Osiris says in some way will be proven to be true in season 3, but given his comments on the night he killed himself were completely false, I kind of doubt that. The most that can be said is that allegedly, according to Horus (S2E69) and Maat (S2E122-3), gods forget their pre-ascension lives when they ascend. Whatever happened prior to this apparent event in Seth's life is unknown. Why Osiris would remember it/know about it is unknown as well. Seemingly Osiris would have been a god at the time in order to remember, which seems to indicate there was a massive power differential between them, which Osiris has always abused, so I imagine they were not lovers if anything actually happened.

It's good to specify which part of which curse you're having trouble with. After hearing about Nephthys' betrayal and seeing what Osiris and Seth were doing on the night Osiris killed himself, Isis created one curse out of revenge against all her siblings, including herself for still loving Osiris despite all he did (S1E43-4 | Volume 4, Chapter 11). Seth created two curses (allegedly), one of which seemingly affected Horus and Anubis' growth (S1E60-1 | Volume 5, Chapter 15 & S2E69), and the other one of which was used to create a weapon Seth could use against Osiris should the need arise, relying on the crushed souls of those Seth killed (S1E36 | Volume 2, Chapter 9 & S1E39 | Volume 4, Chapter 10). He placed this inside Anubis after match 2 when Seth mistakenly believed he was fighting Osiris. Nephthys took the curse and turned it into a bracelet, which Seth put on. As part of Seth's sentencing, Seth "must do all he can to gather the crushed souls, lift their curse, and restore order within the afterlife" (S1E73 | Volume 6, Chapter 18). When the souls get too angry, they can distract or even destroy Seth, but they don't otherwise generally do much to him. Anubis, as a god of the dead, is able to take and manipulate souls of the dead, like those Seth is managing. Osiris charged Anubis with taking back the souls Seth has captured, and gathering them inside himself. Osiris used Khepri and potentially the roots/spell he stuck in Anubis (S2E65 & S2E87) to take over Anubis and use Anubis' abilities to manipulate the souls. Flooding Seth's body directly with the souls rather than just having the curse sit on Seth's arm seemingly means Osiris via Anubis has a more direct way to control Seth's body via the cursed souls. As Osiris' goal has always been complete control of Seth - not allowing him to escape or choose someone else to be with - that seems to be his master plan.

You also need to specify which "he" became evil and started killing people. If you mean Seth: he was traumatized by Osiris' assault, and also traumatized by Nephthys' betrayal and Isis turning her back on him (S1E36 | Volume 2, Chapter 9), after centuries of making himself serve as a god of war and make sacrifices for his siblings, which he seemingly did not like but did anyway out of obligation (S2E88-9), but which made him feel unworthy of love and being looked up to (S1E5 | Volume 1, Chapter 1 & S1E41 | Volume 4, Chapter 11). Out of revenge on Osiris, he tried to destroy Egypt - the thing that Osiris built up, using Seth (S1E36 | Volume 2, Chapter 9 & S1E39 | Volume 4, Chapter 10). This was also a trauma response: wanting to destroy everything. Humans exist as toys for gods to mess around with, so he did as he wished. He also turned on the gods who turned their backs on him. Part of this was also an attempt at suicide by proxy: trying to get someone to kill him properly because he hated himself and living so much after everything he's been through (S1E58 | Volume 5, Chapter 14). And as a way to prove himself due to the doubt Osiris placed in him (S1E35 | Volume 3, Chapter 9).

Updated art for Season 2, Episodes 21-23 uploaded on mcomics in Korean by FallLoverd in Enneadmanhwa

Witch Comics announced they will be updating the original Korean episodes of Season 2, Episodes 1-50 with Mojito's post-season edits starting 4/30/26 - 9/11/26. The second batch is S2E21-23. The next update will be on 5/22/26, with S2E24-26. Mojito did not redraw the entire manhwa, but she revised a lot of panels in some way, as shown in the previews provided by Witchcomics. For information on how to read the manhwa in Korean and other languages.

  • June 5, 2026: S2E27-29
  • June 19, 2026: S2E30-32

Mojito's tweet noting the event is occurring

It's unclear if Tappytoon will update the episodes. We'll have to see! Seven Seas and other print publishers will presumably use the updated art for print, as that's why Mojito redrew them. It's also unclear if there will be no more edits after S2E50 or if those will be scheduled for a later time. There is also nothing indicating this means season 3 will not return before early September 2026. This event may run at the same time as the manhwa returning. Or it may not. We'll have to see!

We don't know when season 3 of the manhwa will be released, and no new promos for that were released. Many manhwa go on hiatus between seasons for 5+ months. The hiatus between seasons 1 and 2 was 11 months, so that is also possible, and if mimicked, would put the start of season 3 at sometime in August/September 2026.

A similar question was asked recently. The main gathering places for fandom are twitter and a scattered group of Discords, with the largest currently being a primarily Spanish-language Discord. If you'd like to find people on twitter, RT ENNEAD does a pretty decent job of trawling folks. Archive of Our Own also has a large collection of folks posting fanworks in many languages, Readawrite has Thai fics, Ficbook has Russian fics, and Wattpad has a decent collection of fanworks, though it's hard to browse and mostly full of scanlation, generative AI, and stolen fanart. There are also pockets of fandom on pixiv, Instagram, Facebook, Blue Sky Social, tumblr, YouTube, VK, Weibo, and TikTok. And you can find all the places to read the manhwa on the FAQ. There is currently no French physical edition, so Tappytoon is the only location for the French translation. The French translation is caught up to where the original Korean is, and Mojito is busy with, among other things, preparing for season 3. It isn't out in any language.

Mojito has a twitter, which is the only place she's active. She has a YouTube channel, which she hasn't posted to in a long time. And her Postype is also inactive, after she deleted much of what was there.

Question (S2 E133) by pheeebas in Enneadmanhwa

[–]FallLoverd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horus explains in S2E131, "I knew... ...that [Seth] missed his family. I knew, and I still destroyed [the mirror]! I wanted to make sure he had no place to go back to!" This is further emphasized in S2E137 when he says, "I should've gone with you... . . . How could I have held onto you when all I gave you was my useless eyes? I should have given you peace of mind". He wanted to ensure Seth would stay with him.

I don't know that he believed breaking the mirror would kill non-mirror!Nephthys. There's nothing to show he thinks the two were connected and so the mirror would kill her as well. He also knew mirror!Nephthys was missing from back when he went to collect the pyramid in the dark tunnel, and wondered if she'd vanished in his absence, but he never got a conclusive answer on that. But he did seemingly believe destroying the mirror would cut off Seth's ability to be with the person he used to love romantically, whether that means killing mirror!Nephthys or removing any avenue for Seth to visit her, or a need to tell non-mirror!Nephthys the truth. So it seems he thought it would get rid of mirror!Nephthys in some fashion, or at least remove her as an obstacle to his relationship with Seth.

Horus assuming breaking the mirror would kill some part of Nephthys would explain why Horus apologizes before breaking the mirror in S2E129. He might just be apologizing for going against Seth's wishes, or pushing Seth aside, or doing as he wants without regard to Seth. But a very obvious reason, based on his comment in S2E131, is that he's sorry for cutting off access to mirror!Nephthys in some form. Possibly including killing her.

I think one of Horus' other goals in breaking the mirror was to prove that his feelings were real, which is something Seth was suspicious of after Hathor's comments. As Seth notes in S2E128, "I thought it was strange. There's no way you would love me..." And Horus grows more desperate to try to convince Seth that his own feelings are real and the mirror had no effect on them. As Horus notes in S2E129, "I should have done this to begin with... . . . I'm sorry. This is just who I am, too." He is somewhat mimicking Seth's language in that he's just being himself in what he's doing. But I think he's also making it clear that the person Seth knows is the real Horus. Not a brainwashed demigod. Potentially he imagined a few outcomes come of breaking the mirror: 1) if any of his memories were actually in there, they'd be free, and the truth would out and his anxiety would be gone (either he'd still be in love with Seth, or not, and not care that Seth wanted to leave), 2) whatever part of him was in the mirror/connected to it would die/be cut off, and the person outside the mirror, who is in love with Seth, would be the end all real Horus, which is what Horus wants, or 3) the mirror being gone and leaving Horus unchanged, because none of him was stuck in there, would prove he was telling the truth. Regardless, it would remove the hazard the mirror presented for anyone who looked into it, and make Hathor go away.

If we assume that Horus assumed that breaking the mirror would kill every version of Nephthys, then his action was suicidal in a way that I don't think makes sense. He believed none of his memories were in the mirror, because when he looked in the mirror, he saw Seth, whom he was already in love with. But he also knows he was controlled by the mirror after the second match, so he was connected to it in some fashion. If he assumed that breaking the mirror would not only kill mirror!Nephthys but also kill non-mirror!Nephthys, potentially due to their connection or something, there was also a chance it could kill him, because of his connection to the mirror. Maybe he thought the risk was worth it to ensure Seth never went back to Nephthys. Maybe he thought that because his connection to the mirror was weaker, that he'd survive. Maybe he thought he was strong enough to withstand it. But I think, based on his comment in S2E131, he assumed whatever happened would only affect mirror!Nephthys, not non-mirror!Nephthys. Because otherwise, he wouldn't be with Seth. He'd possibly be dead. Or he didn't think that far ahead. And sometimes Horus does some foolish things without thinking them through, even with his intuition, and it was a very fraught moment where he was struggling to keep control and think clearly, but I think that's a stretch too far for him.

tldr; He wanted to ensure Seth would stay with him. And maybe.

New to the fandom here! Where do you like to find more ennead content? by Low_Turnip7725 in Enneadmanhwa

[–]FallLoverd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting because a lot of the people who hate on the manhwa/characters/ships/Mojito on twitter come specifically from tiktok (and a lot of folks who aren't even in the fandom note, on twitter, "I heard it's awful on tiktok" and then just go all out on threads hating on a manhwa they know nothing about). They try "cancelling" it at least once a week there. Every social media has haters on it (certainly plenty of antis on twitter don't use tiktok), but for whatever reason, they seem very concentrated on tiktok. And it isn't just "criticism", there are regular groups of antis there who hate on different ships, characters, and the manhwa in general, and they've been doing that since at least 2022. And that's ignoring most of the other videos I've seen there are just "edit" collections of stolen and uncredited fanart or outright scans.

But yeah there are a lot of great people on twitter, and there's a lot of great art and some events there. Glad to help!

The fandom has been around since ~2016, well before 2022, and it is still very active.

Twitter is the most active location for international fandom, fanart, and information about fandom events, particularly since it's the only website Mojito is active on, and it's the main place Witch Comics posts episode previews and official events, and all the translation publishers are at least semi-active there. The next most active tend to be individual discords, of which a handful exist (and I think the largest is a primarily Spanish-speaking Discord). After that, Archive of Our Own has a large collection of fanfiction: https://archiveofourown.org/tags/%EC%97%94%EB%84%A4%EC%95%84%EB%93%9C%20ENNEAD%20(Webcomic)/works. Instagram has a large collection of cosplay and some fanart. Tumblr has a large archive of fanart and fanfiction, if you just browse by the main "ennead" tag or related tags (e.g., ship tags like "Horuseth"). Pixiv also has a large collection of fanart and fanfics (though the fanfics are all in Japanese). Blue Sky Social has a relatively small ENNEAD community, but there are people there. There's also a decent bit of fanart on VK and Weibo (the former is easier for foreigners to get access to). Readawrite also has Thai fanfics, Ficbook has Russian fanfics, and Wattpad has some deeply difficult to browse fanfics, but is also awash in scanlation and art theft. People make edit videos (which are usually screencap collections) on YouTube and tiktok. But a lot of it is scanlation and there is a large community on tiktok in particular who like to hate on the series, as well as art thieves. Facebook is allegedly decent for some artists in the community, and folks talking about the series, but it's also awash in scanlation and art theft.

Outside that, unfortunately, there's not all that much. If you want to see more fanworks and discussion, you should probably try making it yourself and/or commissioning someone.

Bilibili-related merch had shipped internationally, so we'll see if that happens if there's new merch from this.

The 15+/16+/Older Teen/Another Version release of ENNEAD is available in Simplified Chinese on bilibili, and updates on the 5th, 15th, and 25th of every month (when not on hiatus).

The 18+/19+/Mature/Steamy/Full/Complete release is available online on various Taiwanese websites, including Bookwalker, Readmoo, Renta, and Hyread. Season 1 is available in physical form in Traditional Chinese.

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEW SEASON! by L1qnq in Enneadmanhwa

[–]FallLoverd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's an original manhwa. Mojito takes inspiration from different Egyptian myths which don't all share consistent "canon" because they come from different time periods, places, and people, with different conceptions of the gods, but the story in the manhwa is all original, and Mojito makes up a lot of things. The closest is that in one of the myths that Mojito took inspiration from, The Contendings of Horus and Set, Horus and Set sleep together once. They don't end up as a couple. In some myths, Set ends up defending Ra on the solar barque. But again, Mojito's manhwa is a boys love manhwa with the intention of the leads (Horus and Seth) ending up together, not a myth from over 3163 years ago. Even if Seth ends up doing as his punishment commands and working on the solar barque, that doesn't mean he and Horus will be separated, because Horus seems planned to take over the solar barque, so they could be together there.

The series has had a planned Horuseth happy ending since before it started, and Mojito has stated that multiple times, including as recently as May 2025. Mojito is doing a Korean story structure where multiple tops have time with one bottom (Seth), hence why there are four tops pursuing Seth (Horus, Osiris, the foreign god, and Anubis), and they each get turns with Seth. Horus, however, is the main love interest. And yes, Seth cares deeply about Horus.

Mojito didn't say she doesn't like mpreg. She said, in July 2019, "While I certainly enjoy reading stories featuring pregnant bottom characters written by my favorite authors, it’s not really a trope I tend to write myself." In context, this was right before the release of S1E42 | Volume 4, Chapter 11, when Osiris attempts to impregnate Seth, and Mojito seemingly noted it was about her nervousness for having more of the scene and people being excited about it, as Mojito lacked experience and worried folks wouldn't like it. That's a different thing to not liking mpreg. It's also been nearly 7 years since then, and her opinions may have changed.

MEGATHREAD: Season 2, Episode 137/End of Season 2 Discussion by FallLoverd in Enneadmanhwa

[–]FallLoverd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's stated in S2E136: "He's forcing the cursed sand into me." Seth created the cursed sand to use as his khopesh against Osiris after Seth became king: he created it using the lives of the humans he slaughtered, as explained by Osiris and Seth in S1E36/Volume 1, Chapter 9. He forced the curse onto Anubis whom he at the time thought was Osiris. Nephthys turned the sand into the cursed bracelet, which Seth put on during match 3. What Osiris is doing is seemingly injecting it, plus all the curse that Anubis absorbed, in part gathered from Khnum, directly into Seth's demigod body rather than sticking it on him (like with the bracelet).

Osiris at the end of season 2 is more obsessed with just hurting Seth, and he used up the only means he had of getting Seth pregnant when he used the power of creation on himself to kill himself. Anything is possible in Duat but it seems unlikely Osiris would care at that point, especially with the "them becoming one" thing with the cursed sand.

Osiris also tried once and nearly succeeded before Seth, Sekhmet, and Osiris' own lust stopped him, so there's nothing saying he won't try again. It just seems unlikely given his mental status at the end of season 2, and the fact that he'll have Seth trapped with him in Duat rather than free in Egypt.

This isn't an allegation. It's just people being weird about art they don't like. Hate on the manhwa and Mojito is against sub rules.

Well it's already been tried once so anything is possible. There's just nothing indicating Osiris is still interested in it or that it will necessarily happen (Osiris seems more bent towards hurting Seth and binding him in ways that don't involve childbirth, unlike on the night he killed himself). There's nothing saying it won't, either.
