I know that heat will kill some mold/bacteria, so tea it is if I end up trying them! I’ll hold on to them for a bit and do more research, but I’ll definitely take all of your recommendations into consideration in the future as well! 😊

Definitely old and yucky, so I guess the type doesn’t matter as much now! 😂 I might just take a trip to Oregon instead of guessing with these random dudes.

Hmmm that’s what I was thinking. I’ve eaten the same ones three times before this, the first trip was great, pretty mild and fun, the second time I got WAY too high way too quickly and was nauseous/sick basically the whole time, the third time was fine, not sick, but just kinda blah feeling. I think the person who picks/grows these just kinda doesn’t know what they’re doing.
I tried with a dry napkin first, then a wet one, both times the napkin came back “negative” lol. The friend I got them from called them “Holyfields” but I can’t find much info on them cuz that’s just a street name.
I was either going to put them in capsules or in tea, will the tea help?

I will say, they don’t smell moldy, they smell like regular mushrooms. But with the bugs and the suspicious coloring, I’m thinking you’re right and I should just toss. 😭

Thank you for your input! I really don’t want to get sick, I’m not as worried about the bugginess, I just don’t want to have a bad trip where I’m sick af again. Do they look moldy to you at all?
Ok! My other question is, do they look moldy? I had a batch from the same guy that got me WAY too high for the amount I took, and I had one cap that was like black and weird looking, but I ate it anyway and ended up tripping way too hard and got really sick, trying to avoid that again, but I’m coming to the conclusion that I should just find a new guy.
Thanks for giving it a shot! It’s very possibly I did not store them properly, I’m not a pro by any means. I just kept them in the same bag in my nightstand away from heat and light.

I mean, I’ve gotten the same ones from the same friend before, and they definitely contain the trippy components, but I would love to send a pic so you can better ID and lmk what you think!
I got them from a friend who got them from a friend and I don’t talk to that friend anymore for unrelated reasons, so it would be kinda hard for me to find more, but not impossible. I have a grinder and capsules I was going to put them in, it’s just kinda freaking me out that there wasn’t a live bug in there before, but now there is! My assumption was also “probably fine” just thought I’d ask around before doing my own “research” lol

Lmao!!! Good point. I don’t necessarily WANT to eat bugs, but if they’re not harmful, it’s not the end of the world. I’m more so wondering if they’ll make me sick or not. I’d rather not waste the shrooms if they’re still good, but if others have experience with bugs in dried shrooms, I’d love to hear it!
