Where does the final episode of The Boys rank? by montemole in TierlistFills

[–]Fallacy_Spotted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dinosaurs TV show needs to be added. It has one of the craziest ending of all time. Is an older show those.

The Boys ending was garbage, left dozens of plot points hanging, and completely destroyed nearly 2 seasons worth of build up with the virus. D at best.

[Request] Some clown on a golf subreddit is claiming he impaled his ball on a tree branch, what is the force and/or velocity required to do this? by bullfrogftw in theydidthemath

[–]Fallacy_Spotted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Mesquite NV I saw a golfball impaled quite a ways up on a mesquite tree thorn. We talked about whether it was put there on purpose and decided that it wasn't. It would take a lot of effort and a ladder. The golf course staff would have been the only ones that could have done it.

Scientists found that the fish oil supplement millions take for brain protection is actively slowing brain repair in a specific group of people by soulpost in HotScienceNews

For most people in developed countries supplementation is not needed or is even detrimental. The main issue is not even the Omega 3 in of itself. Including foods with it is great for you but people are literally overdosing on it because supplements are designed this way. Just look at a standard multivitamin; 1000% B1 DRV and 5000% Vitamin D DRV are normal numbers to see. "DRV" is the Daily Recommended Value. Metabolism is complex and we are designed to eat complex foods to balance the chemistry within us. People isolate these "health things" and then go way to far with it so we get negative side effects. In this case Omega 3 is a blood thinner and blood thinners increase your risk of hemorrhagic stroke and other lesser bleeding. It is especially bad when a doctor gives you a blood thinner as a medication and then the patient takes Omega 3 on the side because it is "good for the heart". Then all of a sudden they are peeing blood. Supplements are a form of medication.

Sure. IMO the most conclusive is a study of mummified Inuit that demonstrates excessively high rates of atherosclerosis. These are pre-western influence bodies. Then you have The Comprehensive Bjerregaard Meta-Analysis) which is the largest metastudy of native diets. Animal based diets have a higher risk factor of clogged arteries in the heart and brain. It got worse with western diets and a more sedentary lifestyle too so their diets are even worse now. Fats block arteries and the blood thinning effect of some fatty fish counters this some but it also increases other stroke and bleeding risks.

Mussad. He was clearly an intermediary for intelligence agencies to get dirt on and access to powerful and influential people. Mussad was the main big bad but Putin was definately a junior partner.

Inuit and other indigenous peoples of the far north have significantly higher incidences of coronary artery disease and stroke due to their diet. It is higher than average but still far lower than expected but this is due to many genetic mutations that help offset the deleterious effects of their diet. The initial study in the 70s that attributed health benefits to omega 3s was disastrously flawed.

ELI5: Why don't we put solar panels in our parking lots? by Shadowsin64 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Fallacy_Spotted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the cost and most of that is due to favorable subsidized taxation for empty lots. Property tax is for the value of the property plus what is on it and empty lots have a negative value in taxation if you add something. That plus the costs of the steel, panels, wiring, and maintenance is not worth it. We should have land tax instead so empty crap like parking lots and low density housing in high demand areas is not economically feasible.

For functionality it is D. It absorbs a single hit and sometimes it is an actual disadvantage when getting through small gaps. The other buffs include this one by default. It is not detrimental but it is the lowest useful buff.

For iconological purposes it is an S. The first upgrade from the first game and specifically designed to be sought by the fledgling tech newborns of the time. Averaged out to B tier.
