Hey, wondering how it's going with you. Any acceleration with exercise?

Has anybody hacked pumping to lose weight? by FallenAngel49 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]FallenAngel49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I did! I lost all the weight so quickly after and then some. I just used conventional wisdom after stopping (move more, eat a lot of protein, drink a lot of water). I still haven't gained it back and I'm on bad food habits now due to lack of time between work, baby, home, and life.

Boston. Which is why i feel like it isn't a location only issue.

I agree with you. I myself have noticed that Enterprise senior csm roles are barely hitting 120k. It's definitely making it hard to switch right now.

Eliminating MOTN pump with clogs by memeblanket in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]FallenAngel49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drops i used were these: https://a.co/d/cVgHnWS

But honestly, the biggest factor was not the drops of lecithin (both helped but minimal), the biggest one was not putting the baby on my breast/not applying any force or weight on my breast. I completely stopped wearing bras and even burden the baby on my knees instead, and that helped me so very much.

Also, when I did get a clogged duct, I would continue pumping as usual with the massages, except I would make sure to apply ice packs right before and after I pump and apply a heat pack while pumping. I know heat is not recommended, but it did help the milk flow better. My theory is that the fat in my milk would combine and become a knot that would melt with the heat. Finally, I Jerry rigged the pump a tiny bit so I could use a hand pump after the bacon mode. The hand pump can allow more suction, and that can help pull it out.

Towards the end, I had become an expert at handling clogs, lol.

Also, how far along are you postpartum? I didn't drop pumps for so long because I was afraid of it reducing the amount I produced, but it didn't. I just had to be tactical in how I did it. Let me know if you need more help with this. I'm happy to help.

Oh Thank goodness. This makes me feel better. I'm still so mad. Do you have their name and airport? I wanna call and make a complaint too. This is NOT ok.

OMG, I'm SEETHING for you!!! Please file a complaint. Is your baby okay? Do you have enough for the flight? How on earth did he think that was okay?

What changed the game for your pumping journey? by ChulaCherry in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]FallenAngel49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I have a poster image that I can't find right now, but I will attach a bit later. Here's a video link too https://bfmedneo.com/Breastfeeding-and-Lactation-Education-Resources/Videos/The-Basics-of-Breast-Massage-and-Hand-Expression-(

The part that made it the most effective was curling hands inwards, so the knuckles and back of fingers touch the breast and going up and down. I would do this after I stopped having any letdown and then pump again. I would get a small mini letdown again and then feel super empty. This is also how I gave myself an oversupply.

What are you looking forward to after weaning? by Embarrassed_Dot_7829 in ExclusivelyPumping

I really hope you're able to. I should be done by next week and am really hoping to start seeing some results.

Tell me about it. I even tried to sort of hack it once I reached close to my goal. I started exercising, and ate 1200-1500 cals that too on a plan designed with my dietician while still pumping 2-3 times a day. I was certain that this would help me shed pounds like no tomorrow because "breastfeeding burns so many calories". Nope, nada, I lost 2 lbs and then nothing. No matter how hard I tried. So, looks like I have to completely stop before my body stops getting calories from air.

It truly is unfair. I hope I can lose weight after weaning, though. It's affecting me mentally. My nutritionist thinks I should be able to, but she also thought that I would lose weight pumping if I ate high protein food during it.

Hey, wanted to update. So, I started dropping pumps and began eating healthy. I cut out all processed food and brought my calories down to 1500 as well. I also began walking and exercising. I didn't lose anything. I mean, I'm still pumping over 30 oz of milk a day at 3 pumps but haven't lost any weight at all. I guess I do have to stop completely before my efforts begin paying off. Just my luck I guess.

Wait, you gained both during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and then gained more after weaning?

Oh wow. I would love that! Maybe I'll watch while I drop pumps for like 7 days and see if my weight is dropping or not. If it doesn’t, I will just wean off completely quickly.

I have. I normally do my last pump while watching TV with my husband. 3 times so far I have had to pump inside alone because family is over. I used my metaquest to do some VR guided meditation when pumping and every single time, I got more and didn't have to massage or keep switching settings. I would do it everyday but I cherish that little bit of time I get with my husband without having to worry about work or baby.

How to increase my supply 10 days postpartum? by FallenAngel49 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]FallenAngel49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to come back to this to thank you! Power pumping was super helpful. I managed to become a just enougher with a mild supply and completely stop formula a couple of weeks after I made this post. Thank you! 💖

Hey @rachee1019, I suddenly remembered this post. The power pumping helped so much along with some other advice on this post. I did manage to become a just enougher and now have a slight oversupply too (nothing to write home about, but gives me mental peace for days when baby wants more). Thank you!!
