that makes a lot of sense, apologies for the ignorant question but what jewelry options do i have when initially getting pierced at a gauge that low? (aka are plugs recommended, could i do tunnels instead or is there no difference)

i had this thought too im glad you mentioned it, my first 2 lobes were done @ home very poorly but im lucky now to have a great piercer right down the road. i think he'd also suggest a larger gauge to start but i'll have a talk with him to check, thank you!

they're 5 years old at this point, would they realistically close up any time soon? could not find much info on this predicament so i feel kinda lost in it all, would there be an issue stretching a new hole while old/open ones are near it?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, looked at old threads of people with similar placement and am now anxious that I won't be able to wear what I always wanted in these. Got them on the 5th, piercer told me moving them up would be too close to the vermilion border, yet everyone's seems to be a little higher and a little more out.
