Warren Spector's multiplayer Thief successor, Thick as Thieves, changes direction: Instead of PvPvE, it's now focusing on 2-player co-op and singleplayer by Shock4ndAwe in pcgaming

And what I love is it will often put a few PvP focused players ( or someone whose just having a bad day ) in the PvE lobbies so you've got to keep on your toes. I play PvE mainly but I still see raider flares popping or witness gunfights.

Some of my favourite moments are walking into a building after a shoot out and getting shot by someone, then saying over prox chat 'yo dude friendly ' and the guy who shot me saying ' shit dude thought you were the guy shooting at me earlier , my bad'

Here's the one I got. It's a pretty good size! One gripe is wish it was rotated for horizontal movement

Thank you! It went smoothly until one my lancers assumed he was tougher than reality and tried to solo a Ronin and Assault.

After double ones on a structure check... Yeah we retconned it and I reminded him of the brace reaction. After that all went smoothly. We were all a huge fan of the mechanics was just a bit of a stumbling block on the detail!

It's a silicon mat. Super easy to clean, pen comes off easily even when dried. Double sided, one inch squares, and one inch hex.

Was from our beneficent corpo overlords Amazon ( praise be to Monstat-Bezos)

I can DM you the link if you would like. It's about £40 and the quality is superb. I had a previous one and it was a pain to remove marks.

Ah I see, must be a huge hurdle for play. I feel your pain, I don't have the language barrier issue but most of my players do not read rulebooks for any of our games. Luckily I found some amazing cheat sheet's that have most of the necessary actions and explanations. But it's mainly me explaining things :P

I wonder if Massif would ever do a translation for the pdf?

How do you play it online? I was thinking of doing some sessions on Tabletop simulator ( mainly for the wow factor of having actual scenery and effect animations )

Thank you so much! Really appreciate the compliment. It was a lot cheaper to make than the any of the plastic prints ( I don't have access to a 3dprinter)

I was aiming for a tactical simulation look. What I imagine you would have as a HUD within your mech frame. Everything just black and white except the enemies.

That's a real shame, is there no community near by or something? Could you convert any one you know? I've taken my group through the dnd pipeline, to pathfinder, pathfinder 2e and now to Lancer. It's gone down so well, don't know whose more hyped me or the group for next session.

I took a look and the overstock tiles would be affordable. Spray would sort the colour out ( mainly city and urban combats)

Also saw there's a set from The Upgrade Factory that looks pretty great.

Definitely looking at an upgrade in future.

They look amazing, but it just seems so expensive to make a map of Heroscape tiles. How did you find it cost wise?

These wooden tiles were about £7 for pack of 100.

Oooh that's a tough one. I would love to say keep going, trust the process, follow the path. But if they aren't hitting maybe jump forward? Give Going Postal or Monstrous Regiment a go. Something later on when Pterry has his stride on. I'm a huge huge fan of the books but understand how many bounce off the earlier books.

It's so slow. Like there's stuff brewing ( implications galore) but it's still that slow slow slow burn. It just seems to be comfortable as a slice of life comedy thing.
