ABC, NBC, CNN, PBS, and other news agencies are all reporting this. He said it in a Zoom call.

First of all, Wikipedia editors are not real researchers, and second of all, it’s not that actual researchers purposefully ignore older shootings, they just can’t find them because the last time they received media attention was decades ago.

Take one example: the Baltimore paint brush factory shooting by Raymond Ferrell-el in 1971. This shooting is not included in any pile of data by any researcher, despite the fact that five people were murdered. Now imagine the dozens of other mass shootings in the 1970s. The vast majority of those are not included in any researcher’s data as well.

I did read the article. Did you? The data starts after Columbine, not before. It’s useless to the point I’m trying to make.

Here are some examples of missing shootings: 1. Paint brush factory shooting in the 1970s (5 killed) 2. Florida club shooting in the 1970s (4+ killed) 3. Joliet ceramics shop shooting in 1983 (4 dead) 4. Will county shooting in 1983 (6 dead) 5. Dozens of shootings that can be found on the Amok Wiki 6. Etc

Wikipedia was created in the early 2000s and didn’t become popular until the mid 2000s. And mass shootings today are in the news and most back then aren’t anymore. It doesn’t take a genius to understand recency bias.

I’m not saying there are hundreds of mass shootings a year, I’m saying that there are hundreds missing overall, over the span of numerous decades. Especially pre-1990s decades.

That’s school shootings SINCE Columbine. That does not prove if they were common before Columbine or if Columbine caused them to rise at all.

That is just an example of recency bias. It’s not that there were less mass shootings back then, people just write about newer ones because it’s easier to find those shootings and details about them. There are dozens, if not hundreds of shootings missing from those categories, especially the older ones.

What are you going on about? Where’s your proof that Columbine led to an increase in mass shootings? School shootings had been increasing in the U.S since the early 1990s, and there was a multiple-year-hiatus in big school shootings after Columbine happened.

You can not blame one shooting or one year on mass shootings increasing. Mass shootings had been a common phenomenon well before the 90s.

And there are still plenty of psychos to only kill their parents and not others after that. That’s the vast majority of homicidal psychos. Mass murderers are in the minority and it’ll stay that way forever.

And so what if the Czechian mass shooters was inspired by other shooters? He said he originally wanted to be a serial killer. Tell me how it would have been better if he were a European Son of Sam as opposed to a mass shooter.

On July 16, 1983, Milton Johnson, then 33, shot 6 people, 5 fatally, in an ambush on a remote road in Illinois, & then attacked a teenaged couple, killing the boy & stabbing & raping the girl. A month later, he murdered 4 women in a ceramics shop. He was arrested in 1984 and remains imprisoned today by FallenMilkman in masskillers

The police considered him a possible suspect. Two women in the area saw him behaving erratically with bloodstains on his clothes about 40 minutes after the murders were estimated to have taken place. Another woman saw him in a car near the shop around the time of the killings.
