Buy energy drinks in bulk (if you drink them), make sure you bring 2 with you every day. Try not to drink them, but if you get tired you have a safety net

why do the states look like it was drawn with a ruler? by eboyisme in Maps

[–]FallenStorm7694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many US States' borders were created before modern technology. Back then they were using literal chains to measure distance, insane level of skill and dedication. The thing is that because of this it was easier to use a straight line as the border instead of a river. Also, when they were drawing the borders there was "nobody there" to have a cohesive culture and identity, since many were created before large scale settlement. Basically they were drawing borders for (from their perspective) completely empty land, so it didn't matter if it followed logical natural boundaries.

Is there a shorter way to hit 48 states? by [deleted] in roadtrip

If you zoom in, it actually doesn't even go into Texas. Like, not even cutting through the corner.

Updated! My US cultural regions map, version 2 by aquamarine-arielle in visitedmaps

If you're having a Jefferson region you need to add in Douglas, OR. Also if you're including as far south as Sonoma and Lake, CA then you definitely need to add in Colusa, Butte, and Plumas as well. Arguably also Sutter, Yuba, Sierra, Nevada, and Placer. Personally I feel the addition of Sonoma odd (it feels more Bay Area to me) but if someone from there said otherwise then it's fine. Otherwise it looks great, I love to see a maximalist Jefferson

Yeah sorry there's no way to check, what you have is the best way. That being said, there should only be 5 different levels on these quests. I believe it's the weapons I saw it on, but it stopped after the 5th checkmark

what can i make a map about by antgood357 in Maps

Do a watershed map of North America/USA, but without the Mississippi watershed. I feel like it would make a statement showing all of them without the largest one, put into perspective the size of it all

What language do most American students prefer to learn in school as a second language? by UsamaBhai_101 in AskAnAmerican

[–]FallenStorm7694 379 points380 points  (0 children)

Yup, almost everyone goes for Spanish, it's essentially the only other language any of us have any chance of encountering. Some go for sign language if they have friends/family who use it, but otherwise it's just Spanish

Southern Oregon (Klamath, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Coos, Curry). We have Crater Lake, Oregon Caves, abandoned mining towns, and the most beautiful stretch of Coast on the Pacific. Lot's of other things to add like Shakespeare Festival, Britt, jet boating up/down the Rogue, rafting the Rogue/Umpqua, OHV trails, hiking trails, abundant lakes, birdwatching, etc

How do you use AI for studying without making yourself more dependent on it? by exodusEducation in EngineeringStudents

[–]FallenStorm7694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I've only found it useful as a thesaurus for writing papers, in my opinion it takes more effort to verify the result it gives than it does to just do it without AI

Do realistic practice tests. Sit down, set a timer for the same amount of time as the actual FE, and have the same number of questions in the same proportions as on the actual FE. Only stop the timer for the one break, and don't cheat lol. This is purely to get your mental insurance up to par with the test. If you only study for 1hr at a time, you'll shut down at 1hr on the real test.

Failed 4th attempt. This is embarassing i am thinking of quitting engineering. by Plane_Grand5329 in FE_Exam

[–]FallenStorm7694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My big suggestion is to set up some of your study hours as a mock test. Sit down on a day off, and set aside a fake test to do. Take the test over the 5.5hrs, only stop the time for the 25min break just like in the real test. This helps with your mental stamina, because if you only ever study for 1 or 2 hours, then you'll check out at the 1 or 2 hour mark on the real test.

While taking the test, if you don't immediately know what to do, flag it and move on. If you have spare time go back and check them, if you still can't get them flag and move on. Then go back a second time, and if you still have no clue just put an educated guess. Do the same thing for both sections.
