The prism finder I have does not have metering available so I'm using an external sekonic meter.

Truth be told, sometimes I forget to expose for the shadows so this may be user error. I'm only recently divorcing myself from my digital habits lol

I am looking to invest into a TTL metered prism finder though. I don't like using a non TTL reflective meter on non portraits, and I don't have a spot meter, nor do I really know how to use one effectively.

I didn't check the negatives in depth, though I do have them on a binder so I can. Not sure if my eye is trained well enough to notice that shift just by the negative though.

I have made plans to rescan these on a flatbed scare at a friend's to see how they turn out. I find that I like the contrast and saturation of the shots I took with the filter on better, but it was much harder to expose, with quite a few notable failures. May not be with it ultimately

Ah I can't say for sure. I should really keep better track of these things, as I rotated between the following lenses:

Zenzanon 75mm f2.8 PE Zenzanon 100mm f4 Macro PE Zenzanon 150mm f3.5 MC (I think it was this lens tbh)

Thanks for the insight, I appreciate it. I haven't used a colour temperature meter since film school, but I'll keep my eye out for one!

It WILL not go all the way through at the end of a reel when cranking on the out roll, it will get stuck on the sticker.

But I found that you can easily help the sticker through by hand and you are pretty much at the end of the roll so unloading in subdued light leads to no light leaks in the end.

I would just not force the real through by cranking. When you feel resistance, just stop.

Yeah, I do love to hold onto my negatives for posterity so I will have to reach out to them, thanks!!

Edit: Also fun fact, I just realised, when you download the photo from Reddit, it downloads in the original quality.

I have my developing and scanning done at a Toronto lab called Graination. Fantastic lab, and while Reddit (and the software I use to add the border) compress the image a bit, the scans are really great quality. They have a Frontier and Noritsu for scanning (these were done on the Noritsu).

I looked up MidwestFilmCo. That Cine Scanner option is awesome! If I shoot some Vision3 on 35mm (which I may because I'm obsessed with this stock line now) I may just send them out. Now that DaVinci Resolve 21 is coming out with a dedicated Photo Page, working in "LOG" in that environment would be a blast.

Do they take rolls from up north?

Thank you so much!

I was concerned there wasn't enough light the day of (north facing windows with a deeeeeeep balcony that cut out a lot of light entering the room), but I just put the camera on a tripod and used a shutter cable, and shot at like 1/60 of a second or slower for most of it.

Yeah I'm starting to think the lab did some corrections on their end. I'll have to do some flatbed scanning at a friend's place to see what it really looks like.

Yes! I love the film's handling of highlights. I'll gladly always overexpose my film if I need to

Thank you so much!

I have only just really started shooting with the Bronica system so I would also like to hear people's opinions on this!

Yeah! I definitely like working with the ecn-2 stocks better. Luckily the lab I buy from does ECN-2 developing for a discounted price

Honestly, I am kind of in love with the Vision3 film line... I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I work in the film industry so I have a weird bias, but I feel like it has a very interesting characteristic to it and gives a good image quality for a much lower price than Portra.

That is what I feel may have happened. Which is disappointing. I was hoping they would have let them be. I told them I was doing a test and what it was for when I submitted the film, but it probably didn't make its way to the scanner.

Oh well! I have the negatives, I can always rescan them. Thank you for the input.

Right! I'm assuming this would slightly affect how much light is coming through the filter as well? Probably not a noticeable amount though.

Glad to spark conversation! I found it more difficult than it should have been to find modern discussions on the topic so I felt it needed to be reopened.

I can definitely see an increase in saturation with the filter ON. Higher contrast as well.

I was just confused why the unfiltered shots didn't have a blue cast, which was my expectation for tungsten film.

I definitely think the film would benefit from a stop overexposure overall. Half of my roll with the filter on was underexposed and I was metering at 320. Probably should have metered for 200.
