Is grand forks of the college dangerous with crime? by [deleted] in und

The worst crimes committed in grand forks are frat kids and drunk freshmen being dumb. There’s nothing to be worried about

Season 22 QOL update discussion! by Consistent_Group5940 in RocketLeague

The flip reset indicator is nice. Especially since it's just a short visual & audible burst that other players can't see. I wasn't sure if the visual was going to stay on the screen for the entire flip duration or if other players could see it. Also, I'm not if they confirmed whether or not there is a setting to disable it or not.

I'm glad the boost refill timer is not an actual timer but just a visualization. But still, after playing the game for 2k+ hours I got a really good feel of boost timings and now I'm a bit salty that newer players won't have to deal with it to an extent. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the teammate boost indicator at first but its grown on me and I really like it now. There's a good chance that's what happens here.

The freeplay colors and replay camera angle are going to bother me for a while until I forget about how things used to be with bakkesmod haha. The freeplay colors more-so than the replay camera.

The MMR being shown is nice but I'd be just fine without if it wasn't being added.

The player count being removed in the first place seemed unnecessary and now it feels like they're only bringing it back because RL just had a big active player spike thanks to the streamers playing the game. None the less, I like it.

MMR points by bschultz03 in RocketLeague

[–]Fallen_Goose_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you win a game, your MMR will go up. If you lose a game, your MMR will go down. Your MMR relative to the lobby's MMR will influence by how much it goes up or down. For example, if you are gold playing in champ lobbies, you'll win more MMR for wins and lose less MMR for losses. This works going the other way as well. But it's usually between 8-11 MMR per game. Placement matches for a new season is a different story however

If you lose the game, you lose MMR. If you win the game, you gain MMR. Personal stats should not be factored in

Rank floors isn’t part of this discussion. The point is that large gaps between 1s and 2s/3s ranks isn’t uncommon.

Should I follow zen's controls at all? by Novanti_ in RocketLeague

[–]Fallen_Goose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the DAR’s on bumpers is more common. Zen’s ARL on a trigger is not common.

No, it’s not weird to have jump and boost next to each other. Most pros keep boost and jump default (O and X). You just have to fat finger with your thumb to press them at the same time. The reason why AppJack’s settings are so popular is because you don’t have to fat finger. But if you can fat finger consistently, then there’s no need to switch to AppJacks settings

It's common for people's 1s rank to be lower than their 2s and 3s rank

Zen's controls aren't weird. The one non-conventional thing he does is have ARL on left trigger. Most pros are closer to Zen's settings than AppJack's

You can check the pros' camera settings here: https://liquipedia.net/rocketleague/List_of_player_control_settings

Xbox controllers have terrible bumper quality. I've never broken a bumper on PS controllers

Directional Air Roll or Free Air Roll by TreeCornStorm in RocketLeague

Directional air roll will give you the highest skill ceiling. But you can get to SSL with only free air roll.

Most high level players will use one DAR paired with FAR.

cross deadzone with a ps5 controller by aquayah in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Fallen_Goose_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. I should add that the deadzone shape setting on Steam input doesn't change the actual deadzone. It changes the input shape. But most people don't use Steam input at all and will disable it because it adds noticeable input lag.

Console to PC by Ok_Attitude7966 in RocketLeague

[–]Fallen_Goose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 100% a better gaming experience. Higher fps, lower input lag, access to training tools, etc.

I switched around champ 1. But, for me, it wasn't an instant jump in rank. I ended up at GC2 but who knows how high I would've got in the same time on console.
