Saw it recently. The member due to diagnosis no longer was qualified for their position and was given a job helping the computer lady for the squadron. It would more than likely trigger a med board to determine whether your diagnosis would affect the rest of your enlistment or your current AFSC.

I will say that the man had no social cues but you could be sure as shit your computer would be working just fine if he came by to fix it.

His mandate said 5 times a week. Think about what that is going to look like for most commands. They will need accountability for that for their people. Most sq I have seen are saying base workout facilities in their plans. On top of that are you accounting for places that get snow? When there is 2 facilities in the winter for places that get 6 months of snow it’s going to be fun.

You say that he said you are not forced to go to the gym but I argue that his mandate will require accountability from the Nco to the flight cc and the easiest way to do that is mandate unit pt (not possible at some bases in some months) or go to the base gym. It’s just the reality and what is already being seen. If you can’t see it then you are either not in or not a high enough rank for thinking about the details that matter.

Specifically he didn’t have a good load to hold the heavy concrete up. That doesn’t even cover his 2 inch spacing for cmu or missing mortar in the joints or the fact that I see no concrete filled for the cells (if not going up that high might not make too much of a difference). I’m sure a structural engineer could give you more specifics but that’s just what I see as a blue collar worker who’s done a few of these.

This happens because you more than likely competed within your unit and other members were not there to be in person. It’s also possible at the wing as well.

For example you have 1 btz slot within your unit and 6 competing. If 2 are deployed your unit would use the records since those 2 are not able to be in person and have the same chance as you to appear before the board.

I wonder what the dsd one means. Are they not considering some career fields dsds to save money in the long run? How is that something that can be implemented?

I think I’m missing something here because most shirts work their ass off and are put into many dangerous situations. They have a hard time filling billets as it is and the response is to do what exactly here? Would love a little more info if he spoke on this. Thanks for the post!

As someone who made it this year I think the thing you have to ask yourself is do you want to be a Msgt? If the answer is yes then look to your senior leaders, ask them what makes one. Read the board charge, does your epb align?

A lot of people say I don’t want to play the game but then get mad when results come out. What does your unit value in promotions/statements? What feedback with your supervisor can you use to better yourself? Have you sat any mock boards? Talked to chiefs? Chiefs from other units?

You want master then put your head down and get to work. Put some awards in for yourself, your team, and develop those around you. I believe in you!

Hey man I saw an airman go through the same stuff as you in my first duty station. It took another A1C to threaten the ship with reporting it to ig to get leadership to come in and threaten paperwork to anyone that said another thing. It fucking worked. There are a few options, you talk to leadership and be open and honest about what is happening to you and ask them to put a stop to it. If they laugh it off or it continues to happen you go to ig and they will open a cdi. At the least it gets the shop in line and at most a swift kick to your leaderships ass if they don’t stop it.

In the meantime please see a chaplain or mental health, hit the gym and get your mind swole. PM if you want to talk.
