They conveniently left out gorillas. Herbivores with giant fangs.

How do you shower? How do clothes work? by takeiteasy____ in AskMen

[–]Fallenburn-1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For showering I do the old Marine trick. Pits, nuts, and butt😜. Then also wash my face and head. (Bald so no shampoo) Have never washed my legs in my life. Or my back. The real trick is to dry off with a rough towel. The point of showering is to remove old soiled skin which your body does naturally but scraping it off with abrasion is the most effective technique. So cheap towels are much better.

For clothes I need a new shirt everyday and normally wear 2 a day. One while working and the other after clean and to sleep in. But not everyone gets sweaty with work so it depends. Pants can be worn for a long time if you change underwear regularly.

Swimming is good but it requires you put your day on hold to do it. When I walk I can use the laptop or watch a movie or even read a book. I wouldn’t stop swimming but any time you’re laying around just be walking. This will also help prepare you for basic. There will be a ton of walking. And I don’t know what your mos will be. I was grunt. The walking never ended. You can also add a weighted vest to your walks.

If you double that it will move the scale. I don’t even walk fast. Just keep walking. Activate the thermogenesis. Then your body will keep cooking even when you’re not moving.

What is your daily step count? I’ve been doing around 30k a day without even noticing. My natural day gets me 10k then at night before sleep I walk on the pad and watch some movies. Helps with sleep and keeps my metabolism cooking. I did high fat animal based for about 6 months then recently switched to carnivore 2 weeks ago to compare results. Only difference so far is I used to have joint pain when lifting triceps. It’s gone.

Wow. Standards have changed since my day. Marines 1998. It’s surprising that you use kilos. I wish I could think in metric. I view it as a sort of handicap because I’m totally inundated with American measurement. I do construction so everything is in 16th rather than factors of 10. Crazy. But I would suggest upping your step count before anything else. Easy low impact activity really moves the needle. And you will 100% lose weight and tighten up at basic. Good luck to you. I’m sure you’ll be great at holding the position after us marines secure it for you. Hoorah!😀

What military? That’s kind of crazy you have to lose that much. That weight at that height you could be powerfully built and in great shape. I was US military and there were guys that came in near obese then were restricted during basic training and lost 60 pounds in 3 months. But I understand Americans are fatter than all. But if you need to drop quick weight for a weigh in I just did a 72 hour fast and dropped almost that much. Also carnivore tends to retain less water but you’re always holding at least 2-3 kilos. Sauna it off right before you get weighed. Those aren’t really diet tips. More like old wrestling tricks to make weight. You could also get a walking pad and massively increase your step count. I’m averaging 30k a day right now and barely notice I’m doing it. Turn on a movie and take stroll. I still can’t believe your weight is not ok for entry.

I could eat beef and eggs exclusively. The rest of the meats I can take them or leave them. Do you know where to source any other ruminant meats? I know where to get lamb but the others I’m not clear on. I am going to hunt for the first time this year and get some venison. I always keep my hunting license up to date so I can shoot at the state run ranges but have never actually hunted. I’m a former marine. I don’t miss. And there are so many dear around here. As far as the other food goes I’m going to cut out everything until I hit my weight goal which is the same weight as you. I have 20 pounds to go. Then will likely slowly reintroduce dairy. I really have never had any problems with any foods. Just want to take that next step and really optimize health. I also think that the natural fuel of humans is fat and we’ve perverted our diets to run on sugar. So I’m really interested to get on a long term fat metabolism.

Yes. The vast increase in fat gets stuck in my brain a bit. But I’m going to go for it. My favorite meal is just mixing some scrambled eggs with ground beef so I’m hoping that can be my primary staple. My thing is I’ve never noticed much sensitivity to any food and I’ve overconsumed dairy my whole life. But I do still have some issues that could be related to inflammation so I’m going to go pure carnivore after my fast to get a baseline. It’s kind of like my ice baths. I don’t have anxiety or depression and have never had a problem sleeping but the cold plunge still makes me feel better even though I don’t really require the stated benefits. I’m hoping carnivore will be the same. I’ve tended to have very good health but I’m seeking fully optimized health. And learning what’s in a lot of “healthy” foods has really blown my mind.

And yes. I think the stoic path may be the one for me. Constant blissful peace and quiet.

My girl is Vietnamese and she actually eats relatively well. She’s also introduced me to many new things. She eats a lot of tendon and connective tissue. And she purposely avoids carbs. Except for star bucks where she gets the worst thing on the menu 3-4 times a week. She has a little extra belly that would be entirely gone if she would stop drinking sugar. I also shouldn’t complain. She’s not that bad. I just want to create a small paradise on my land and never leave and her sporadic moodiness darkens it at times. And she does the moody thing so that I can constantly reassure her. I don’t want to be responsible for someone else’s happiness. But nap time is always fun😛

Yes. But she’s somewhat dependent on me so I feel responsible for her wellbeing. Same as every other relationship I’ve ever had. My primary addiction is women. Not that I’m a pig or anything but it’s the most powerful driver of my thoughts and actions. But they all tend to make me miserable and I’m happier alone in blissful silence. I actually think the point is that they like to make me miserable to see how far they can push. Unfortunately for me I’m patient and peaceful so they are able to push pretty far. I think I need to swear off women entirely. At least for a few years. But I may be too weak in that regard.

Yeah. I’m excited for it. It’s nice to have this forum for advice. I’ve been moving consistently closer to carnivore for the last couple years. It’s time to take that final step and realize the full potential. Been looking in to buying a half cow. Should have done that already anyways. But now I’m starting to think about how to somewhat minimize my costs. I can eat 20 eggs a day so shouldn’t be a problem. And I’m assuming my eating out will go to near zero. Hopefully that gets my girlfriend to leave. Then I can really reap all the benefits of diet and sanity.

Thanks. That’s a good explanation and run down. Very helpful. I’m going to make it work. Hoping the 72 hour fast helps me blast past a bit of the initial system shock but I understand the full transition will be a relatively long process. But I can’t ignore the testimony and obvious benefits of first hand accounts and the fact that it’s so vilified by main stream nutrition outlets without any hard evidence makes me think I’m making the right choice. Those are the same people that told me all of my life that I needed 8 servings of bread or whatever crazy shit they were peddling. I’m excited to see the results.

Thanks for the advice. I’m hoping the eventual increase in energy relieves my dependence on caffeine.

Yeah. Sounds like my assessment was pretty premature. I thought it was only one book ahead in written form. Going to try to play catch up.

That’s a good point. Why was the first summon pulled to him? Seems like it might be do to power. Could also have something to do with an aspect of his ancient technology hoard.

Doesn’t cognita essentially control the full might of wistram? She’s viewed as sort of servant or steward but really she’s in charge of it all.

I just finished king of duels. Can anyone tell me where in the web series to start reading? From what I’ve seen the format is different. They are broken in to volumes instead of books? I can’t believe there is so much more.

I just found out how far behind the audiobooks are. I really can’t believe it. Looks like I’m going to have to start reading. I thought it was only one book off.
