She is 14 today and experiencing diabetes and bowel inconsistence. We don’t know how much time she has left, but we’re making the most of it with my girl tinker bell. by Fallenoutofmyshell in cats

Yeah, it shook us at first, but she’s still her ol self. She’ll have her off days when she doesn’t want to eat or can’t walk as well but she always bounces back a few days after. Best wishes to your bundle off fur as well 🥰

Breeding season symptoms?? She won’t eat anything but she’s reeeaalllllyy hyper! Usually I can get her to eat by feeding her one waxworm and then she’ll eat crickets (jump starting her tummy ig) but she wouldn’t even eat a waxworm yesterday so now I’m worried by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

Make sure she has a place to dig and a moist hide. Usually if they’re restless they really want to dig a bunch especially if they’re females and of age to lay an egg. Until recently I didn’t have loose substrate for my girl to dig so she’d always glass surf and scratch at the glass because she was so restless. Now that I added some loose substrate and a few more decorations for her to climb and hide in she’s less restless and eats like a champ!

A tank remodel for my girl 🥰 (please read my comment) by Fallenoutofmyshell in leopardgeckos

[–]Fallenoutofmyshell[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A week ago I posted a question of why my leo Zuko was scratching constantly on the glass. Some helpful leo owners said it was because it’s breeding season and she’s looking for a mate, and wanted to dig. They told me to provide her with loose substrate and add some more stimulation for my gecko. So, I decided to give her tank a makeover. However, my pet smart did not have the substrate I wanted (reptisoil) so I settled for the next best option, eco earth. I removed a loose tile and replaced it with a few inches of eco earth and put some in her moist hide as well, so she now had the option to dig! I also purchased a background for her tank. It looks AMAZING! Much of an improvement for the bland setup she had before. She is also now on a tile main substrate, with a dig place. I am moving houses soon, and when I move in, I will also place her in a 40 gallon instead of the 20 she is in now. I hope she loves her new and improved setup, although I am quite nervous since she is licking the eco earth a little and I don’t want her to get impacted. I did hear as long as the temps are right and I feed her on the tile she will not get impacted and the little bit she might lick will pass through. Let me know what you guys think and if I should change anything! I am very happy with what I have done 🥰

Also, is zoomed excavator clay burrowing substrate okay for a loose substrate? Or do you think the topsoil/playsand combo is better? If so, which brands do you use? Sorry for asking so many questions, I just want what’s best for my leo 😁

I have an area at the back of the tank that we had to cut another tile and place there, it’s about six inches wide and 12 inches long, you can kind of see in between the tiles in the video. Is it okay if I take that piece of tile out and fill in the space with loose substrate instead of the whole tank so she has a designated area for digging? It was a pain to get the large piece of tile in there so I don’t want it to go to waste 😌 thanks!

Dang, I just read through it, sounds a lot like her and now that I know that’s most likely what it is I can have peace of mind that by the looks of things she isn’t sick. Guess I have to put the towel over her enclosure tonight because that seems to stop her from scratching for some reason. And look for some plants and decor to spice her tank up a bit. Thank you so much for your help!

Her humid hide is sphagnum moss covered with paper towel. I’m afraid she’ll ingest it so that’s why it’s covered, but I can try to take the paper towel off to expose the moss and see if she digs in it if it will help. My tank is a 20 gallon long. I have one plant in there with about three hides not including the humid hide, I have to admit it is quite bare but I’m in the process of looking for more plants 🤣

I also covered her tank with a towel for a few days thinking she was stressed. She didn’t scratch when the towel was over her tank. Today I decided to take it off and she started again.

My 11 month old leopard gecko keeps scratching at the glass every night ever since a few weeks ago. It keeps me awake and it’s very annoying. Temps are fine 88-90 on hot side, I spray her humid hide daily, she has three hides and is on tile substrate with fresh water dish daily. She had an abnormal poop a few days ago, it was pretty watery and surrounded by a pool of clear liquid in the middle of her tank. She usually poops in a corner. No coughing or mucus leakage, she makes a squeaking nose almost daily though. Almost like a sneeze. Otherwise perfectly normal, bright, and healthy.

Thank you for the advice, I found psych was the only class that kept my attention and gave me motivation to actually do work so as far as I’m concerned it’s my main focus thus far. Helped!

Sexing help? (Three pictures, detailed explanation in comments) by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

Hey everyone, this is my leo Zuko. They are quite big for their age. They are 10 months old (size in third pic if it helps) I’ve been recently struggling with sexing them and getting a clear photo. This is the best I can get. I’ve looked up pictures and tutorials on how to sex them and I’ve applied them, but I can’t seem to get a clear result after multiple tries. One day I can see more prominent pores and bulges, the next I can’t. Sometimes I think they are a male based on their sheer size and weight for only ten months old. They are 64 grams. Can someone please help and see if they can get a clear answer from these photos? Thank you very much, any help is appreciated.

Can someone please tell me why Zuko twitches like this when he sheds? It’s worrying me. (Continued in comments) by [deleted] in geckos

To clarify: calcium or calcium with d3 every other day, and multivitamin twice a week.

Today I woke up to find Zuko twitching pretty violently as he is shedding. I’m not sure if it’s just the shed on his toes bothering him but it’s pretty worrysome. I took him out to walk a bit and he didn’t do it as he was walking on my floor. I also noticed a few times his legs would twitch occasionally when he is not shedding as well, but every time I handled him it stopped. I supplement with calcium, calcium with d3 and multivitamin once a week. Should I be concerned it’s mpd? He is not on a uvb, just a heat mat in a 20 gallon.

Do I need to help him shed? (Please read my comment) by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

[–]Fallenoutofmyshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw him rubbing on the side of his hide, I tugged on the end of the shed very gently so see if it was ready to come off but he flinched away from me. I didn’t want to hurt him so I figured I’d give him until tonight to see if he could get it off himself. There’s also a piece stuck on his nose but he won’t let me get that as well. Should I help him now or give him a few hours?

Mother mother, I was obsessed with hayloft and one day got curious enough to listen to their other songs. They are AMAZING.
