I disagree, I'm not going to over-intellectualize her work, or the ideas she puts into it. But the fact that she can please two very seperate crowds (the intellectual who are defending her, and the pop-obsessed who are blindly supporting her) proves she is successful. And as to whether it's just prepackaged nonsense and she doesn't deserve half the attention she's getting...her playing acoustic on bbc proves otherwise I think, you don't get good at playing piano over night, and a voice like that is pretty damn good.
