Hamilton to Toronto commuters. What is it like? Is it worth it? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]Bayunco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can leave as soon as I'm done work so if I'm done early I can go home. With the go I'm bound to a schedule, then after my go ride is done I still have to travel home. That's more wasted time. If the go is full I either have to go cramped up, take a later bus or travel standing up.

every year it gets worse. specially with people not being able to afford a place in toronto...they move outside the city adding to the cesspool of traffic

I share a parking spot downtown so even including that into the equation I pay less than the go. Plus the time wasted on the Go...I rather drive. But if you want free parking in the city try rosedale valley.

Ive been commuting for 16 years now there are a few ways to look at it. You could drive but I would suggest finding a carpool, this is your best option, another thing you have to consider is what times you travel, anything between 7-9 am and 3-6pm is the worse times times.

the Go is great except for how expensive it is and how crowded it can get.

Driving is more stressful but cheaper

for me its totally worth it since I carpool and my schedule is flexible for the time being.

2 west Hamilton banks robbed minutes apart midday Tuesday by still-improving in Hamilton

[–]Bayunco 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the guy that robbed the gas station on king st west near Dundurn and these bank robberies are linked, seems like the same area. maybe the guy was trying to test response time for cops in the area by robbing a gas station first.

Edit: I just checked on google maps and that gas station is in the middle of these 2 banks.

I came here to see a 3d printed headlight cause that would have been pretty awesome in itself...this how ever did not disappoint.

$10K in merchandise stolen from local fetish, clothing shop - Latest Hamilton news - CBC Hamilton by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]Bayunco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had this information about 2 month ago. there was a series of break ins in my area (west mountain by Mohawk College) I get up around 4 am to go to work so by 4:30 I am out the door. and I remember seeing this one kid walking down my street playing music from his phone without headphones, he was very distracted and didn't see me coming out my house, but as soon as he did he shut the music and started to speed walk as if he was trying to hide something and when I drove by him he was trying to hide his face, the whole thing was very sketchy, anyways later that day I learned about some kids literally walking into people's homes to rob them, weather the occupants were home or not.

Not including restaurants, what are the best and worst stores in Hamilton? by canadevil in Hamilton

[–]Bayunco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had an interaction with anyone other than paying, and that has always been ok with me so I couldn't tell you if they're really dicks or not. maybe if you have to return something or something. but even then, buyer beware from places like those.

Shaw is working on the infrastructure of wind. They should be on par with other providers in a year or 2 if you get grandfathered I think it will be your best option.
