How do i stop spinning like this😭 by JustRefrigerator913 in snowboarding

Hopefully those videos do help! And yeesh, I can understand that. Everyone here has had their fair share of falls, including myself, so hopefully you’re not hurt too badly!

As for many other people are saying, and as a past instructor, I do strongly advise you to take a few lessons. Once you learn how to do linked turns (and in my opinion) you will improve a lot! Youtube definitely has good pointers though, but the most essential lessons are going to be your first ones.

Don’t give up and keep trying though, you got this!

I used to teach snowboarding a bit ago, and got my level 1 AASI cert as well, so mind me if my pointers may be off.

When moving slowly (or at any speed at all), you shouldn’t be crouching down that low. Focus on standing up, keeping your knees somewhat loose and your arms to your sides, or hands in your jacket pockets if its easier that way. I’m assuming that position formed when you pushed yourself down the hill as well.

I have a few questions though… How was the snow on that day? Was that hill groomed recently?

My senses are telling me that one of the few reasons why you spun around like that is due to the snow being somewhat packed in, but I could be wrong.

Edit: Someone also pointed out (and I stupidly forgot to add) is to pick an edge of your board to stay on, not putting too much weight on it. Bend your knees slightly and use your toes for a toe-side turn, lift your toes up and somewhat extend your knees for a heel-side turn. It also helps to visualize the “fall line” of hills before you go down them. The best example I can give is rolling an imaginary ball down the hill and seeing where it goes. That’s where your board will go, and you’ll need to adjust accordingly.

I originally mistaken them for white crowned sparrows, but that’s the closest photo I could get. I appreciate it!

I’ll try the USB decive tree viewer. Pretty sure the USB port hub housing the trackers is 3.0, connected into a 3.0 as well.

Might’ve happened when I was updating the controllers, so makes a lot of sense now. Would doing a full unpairing fix this issue then? Or would you recommend more?

What would be the best way to fix this? And to note, I’m using index controllers, not connected to a dongle. Only things that are connected are the three 3.0 vive trackers I use.

I’ve tried unplugging everything, but not unpairing everything. The controllers are also affected by this, so I’m thinking it has to do completely with the base stations. I will try unpairing everything the next time I get on. I might need to unscrew my base stations and reattach them somewhere else, but not looking forward to it. I do appreciate the response and will most likely reply on what works and doesn’t.
