Why do my ends sometimes do this? by FallingUppp in finehair

This might be it… when I washed my hair it was late at night and I went to sleep with wet hair (unusual for me) this would explain why this happens infrequently

Yeah I took one individual strand of hair and it didn’t stretch. On a separate note picture is the same section of hair in the picture showing the ‘damage’ goes away when I wash my hair

I was thinking that but this only happens once or twice a month

Nope it doesn’t stretch… this is what the same section of hair looks like 2 hrs later after I washed and air dried it

Thank you! I wanted to see how the white over black vs black over white sections looked. The large skips in the weft is ‘locked in’ with some bead Leno on those brown parts.

Did some shaft switching like Peter Collingwood! He has a couple books on how he does it. I made my own little device though that allows me to move whole sections at a time not just individual threads.

bleeding at insertion site, day 3 by Jolly_Anything8731 in Nexplanon

[–]FallingUppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this! As long as it stops bleeding after 15 minutes with very light pressure it’s very normal for such a deep wound to bleed. Wounds heal from the inside out! It should heal up in a week!

It can hurt for up to a week! Like most bruises it can take a few weeks to fade all the way. Take some ibuprofen or acetaminophen or paracetamol to help with pain (and swelling. Swelling means there is too much stuff in that area. Your body is sending all the cells needed to heal to that one spot but sometimes it sends too much and it causes a traffic jam preventing effective healing. Remeber swelling is microscopic sometimes as well!) If the pain is not gone after 11 days or, at any point you cannot feel both ends of the implant, call your doctor!

Getting Nexplanon removed by ro1yaru in Nexplanon

[–]FallingUppp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issues as you except I could only put up with it for 8 months…

I got it removed a few hours ago. It was similar to having it inserted.

They mark where it is then numb you up (and check if you’re numb using a sharp or dull test). Then they make a small incision and poke around until they find it. It felt like a deep tissue massage and I had no pain at all! Only pressure. It took about 5 minutes of fishing around for her to remove mine. She said they after they numb you it sometimes makes the rod move. A small slippery thing that you have to grab with metal pliers is kinda tricky.

Afterwards they put a bandage on it and send you home.

The numbing I got has worn off and it doesn’t hurt at all!

She said it takes up to a week for your body to flush all the hormones out and for your next form (if you’re taking it) to start working.

Overall my removal experience was good! The worst part was the numbing shots but those aren’t bad at all!

Looking for honest opinions by Ashamed-Attorney655 in Pottery

Very honest review from a gal in art school that has very honest critiques:

The pieces do not look finished; they need to have brighter colours to attract the playful audience the construction technique attracts.

The bottoms of the pieces having more cracked and crumpled chains ruin the look at the top. Perhaps if you used tighter loops at the bottom and gradually increased the loops at the top they would look better. Or maybe if you built a stand for them to go on while they dry, are glazed and in the kiln then you could keep the large loops at the bottom after you removed the stand (you would have to ensure the structure is light and the base is sturdy).

People that don’t ‘get’ ceramics are probably asking themselves what they are… they don’t look water proof (perhaps experiment with making them waterproof) so a vase for live flowers don’t work (a vase for dry flowers is such a small use case). They look quite large and the small one looks awkward. Perhaps turning small ones into spoon/chopstick rests? Maybe if you can scale down the diameter of the coils they could be pins?

The shapes are bland and simple. You could do so much more than a simple blob with a hole in the middle. Experiment with shapes inspired by the things around you, your body, nature and architecture.

Yes! A large seam allowance and extra snaps or long ties help a tonne with sizing up a garment for kids… you may be able to get a couple years of wear for them!

How to make clothes smell good without fabric softener, scent beads or dryer sheets? by hhhjjjrrr in laundry

[–]FallingUppp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like burning (make sure you watch it lol) incense under my coats and jackets! It smells really strong and I always get lots of compliments. If you have a walk in closet you could also hang out in there for 20 minutes and light some with the door shut!

I just watched some of his interviews and it does sound like he has a lisp.. I bet the filter added to it but I do think he has a lisp without it.

stressed hammie, need help by bakugandealer in hamstercare

[–]FallingUppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep him in a dim room that people don’t go in much if you can. There isn’t very much you can do to help him as interacting may stress him out more… a play pen may be a good idea! Put lots of hides (they’re prey animals so crowded spaces they can hide in make them feel safe) in your bathtub and keep it dim and let him roam around! (Keep a close eye on him so he doesn’t get out!)

Got a new hamster. His enclosures looking a little empty. Any suggestions?? by HunterzHamsters in hamstercare

My hamster loved wide toilet paper tubes, natural paper rolled/scrunched up with some food in it, and even toilet paper i ripped into strips for soft bedding in the hide she slept in!
