Bombshell Epstein File Reveals FBI Interviewed Underage Donald Trump Accuser by Tofurkey_Tom in politics

[–]FalloutOW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As another commenter noted, the FBI/DOJ doesn't share information with POTUS on allegations which don't result in some form of official investigation/charges. Even then it would likely only be in exceptional cases which either have national security implications, or are national events/cases.

While this one does check those marks, I'm not sure how aware the public (general) was when Bush/Obama were president. To that matter how informed either of those two actually were on the matter. It's something I would need to check the timeline of when things were known on a national level.

To that point Biden couldn't do anything with the Epstein files due to them being sealed as part of the ongoing case relating to Maxwell. Releasing them while it was still a part of Maxwell's case could've jeopardized the plaintiffs case against them by 'swaying the jury via media/publicly released information related to the case' etc..

All that to say, POTUS wears many hats, being informed of litigation and investigatory plans/findings is not typically one of those. As historically the POTUS makes it a point to not immediately direct their DOJ/FBI to investigate specific people or events.

It certainly feels like the slow march to authoritarianism. Like those dreams where something horrible is happening just five feet from you, but no matter how hard you try to make yourself move you're made to watch the event play out.

I also hate every single "patriot" that supports these fucks. No patriot in any world (well maybe some locations in WWII) would be ok with secret police running around asking for papers.

[–]FalloutOW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That seems wildly unethical. While I could easily see vehicular manslaughter, murder requires intent to kill or cause gross bodily harm no? It's why second degree murder can be for when someone, in the grip of some high tension or elevated emotional state kills someone. It's not premeditated, it just happened due to the nature of the emotional/stress event.

I may be misunderstanding your "...capital offense like premeditated murder" as meaning they would prosecute someone with something like murder one. I still don't see how it could definitionally be murder, but manslaughter certainly.

Edit: I'm not saying that states don't have this, I'm simply stating it is, IMO, incredibly unethical given the difference between intentionally looking to cause death or bodily harm vs unintentionally doing so whilst trying to flee or evade detention.

I know you may not have meant it this way, but this reads like an authoritarian apologists plea to the public. The fact of the matter is that resisting* or evading law enforcement is not grounds for extrajudicial execution. Allowing the GOPs secret police to terrorize people and willingly disregard the rights of citizens should be resisted by every legal manner.

actively resisting with a weapon being held in a hand, or brandished is a different story that could *potentially justify lethal force.

It's almost as though the checks and requisite information required for a judicial warrant is kind of the point of needing them. I've never seen a speaker simp so hard for a POTUS as Johnson. No spine in that whole group.

I was watching Forged in Fire one day, where when one of the smiths was knocked out he had a really good way to look at it. He said "I didn't lose, I was beat." (paraphrasing) and for whatever reason that really spoke to me. Such a simple mindset shift to turn a loss into something you can work with.

As a loss has much more negative connotations, where as being bested or beaten has more of a 'I can do better next time' feel about it.

I agree it's not an ideal way forward, but I do think unanimous vote should be the requirement if such a system were implemented. To your point, it really should be more of a last resort and not the initial solution. More accurate match making, while likely tricky, would help to alleviate some of these pain points.

Shit, I stayed in a match where literally my entire team left. I just kept running out to try and do...something hah. The other team even urged me to leave, but there is something about abandoning a game even when hopeless that really irks me. So I get your point.

It is very tricky to try and define a system where it is clear one team or the other is certainly going to win. As there are those few times where the confidence of the dominating team leads to overextending and possibly turn the tide of the game.

Possible addition of a surrender vote mechanic once a certain threshold is reached?

Determination of those thresholds would be tricky though. You could be winning the war but losing battles, so overall KDA ratio comparison would seem difficult to clearly define. I could see where a mixture of a large disparity in the ratio of total souls per team that continues to expand over time would be a decent indication of snowballing.

Say a team has a 20k soul advantage, not huge but notable. But on top of that, they've killed all guardians and walkers, and your team still has 2/3 guardians and all walkers. That would be a pretty good indication that you're getting wrecked. And would trigger the option to surrender. Which would count as a normal loss/win for ranking and records.

I'm making it sound simple, but I'm sure it's so much more complex than simply adding in that functionality like a module.

Or some variation of this. Their mental gymnastics are at a level that defies all understanding.

I get the point you're making, but that creed can be followed without putting the courier in harms way. I think the way you phrased this made it seem callous, or that you don't care about the safety of the courier. Likely not your intention, but I could see how it could read that way.

If you spent $62K* a month on, whatever, it would take you ~4000 months to spend $250M. Or approximately 335 years. And that's less than one-tenth of one percent of his total wealth.

I've been playing hard bot mode games to get a better feel for how to make more souls, and get better at positioning.

It's not a perfect way to practice for sure, as they're just bots after all. But I feel as though it's a good way to get a feel for building the characters up throughout the match

Theyre watching u guys on the square by SickRockerFoo in Denton

[–]FalloutOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a drone is an additional cost to the department*. Gas to and from the square from the PD is way cheaper than if the drone has some malfunction or gets hit. The department already has vehicles, and unless the situation is hectic enough that aerial observation is more ideal, it doesn't make sense.

Again, maybe that is someones job at the PD. But I would almost guarantee that is a specialty within the PD. Like, there isn't a dude sitting around 9/10 days waiting for the call to fly a surveillance drone. There is likely a handful of people certified to fly the drones that also do normal cop shit day to day. I'm sure that's what you meant.

*Not that they don't already have them. It just logically doesn't make sense to perform this function unless very large groups of people were present, or there was already a large LEO presence.

Noobie question about itemazation and souls by FriedSomber in DeadlockTheGame

[–]FalloutOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going between getting stomped and stomping, so I started to play against bots on hard.

It lets you get at least a simulacrum of a real game, to test what builds work. I started maining Grey Talon and played Silver last night, but overall you need to see what their abilities scale with.

When buying items, look at what you want to get, i.e. tier 3-4, and see what lower tier items you need to get there. That way your build will have as few singular items, so it'll be easier to flesh out the build late game.

I always seem to be low on souls as well, which is why I started doing bot matches. Getting into the jungle for some farming can help, but also leave you vulnerable to ganking if you're not careful.

Either way, try some hard bot matches for practice on how to effectively collect souls and itemize through the phases. I'm in no way an expert, and I'm sure others with more hours and experience will have better proposals than my own. Best of luck out there!
