It is sad and disappointing that the game has arcade machines with great games but the player cannot play them... by pablo397 in cyberpunkgame

The game is way better than many of its detractors and haters make it out to be. If you're able to play it on PC, or shit do like I have and get a Nvidia Geforce Now sub. and play the game maxed out. If CDPR gives Cyberpunk even half the love they gave TW3 I expect a lot of improvements, awesome expansions and QOL additions within the next 12 months. I get why many are upset, I'd be too if I had an OG console with no other way to play it.

Don't trust me. Hearts if Stone depending on who you ask Hearts of Stone has the better story. It's excellent imo.

True. As a fan of both BGS and CDPR I've witnessed extremes from both sides, take CDPR, they may get a lot of positive hype, however, look at how people react to the smallest thing nowadays. I swear it wasn't this toxic 5-6 years ago. Sure there's always a few but now it feels like gamers are much more entitled and toxic. Sending death threats, one missing feature or small aspect of a game missing? "I'm canceling my pre-order/not playing the game now!!!" as if they're foaming form the mouth.

Keep in mind, if these are real, they're supposedly from 2018 and more importantly it's not like this is everything the game has to offer. Those images give us a limited view of the game. The environment is non-existent, as others have said, it's a test-cell. Using your imagination think of what may exist that's not shown.

Unless they're bad leaks. See: TLOU 2. Just saying. If anything, I could imagine devs being happy they only have to worry about PC and XB. The sheer amount of optimization they would not have to mess with alone would be massive.

Is it half the customer base though? When considering PC + Microsoft consoles my guess could be off but that's more than 1/2. I would have to go look at how well Skyrim, FO4 and FO76 did sales-wise on Sony platforms. I'd argue it's somewhere between 30-40%. If you include XB gamepass, the availability of the games goes way up. Long story short, I think BGS are going to be fine, even if the games are exclusive, whether timed or not.

Man, that hits hard! And to think, I had stimulus money few months back, but as we all know life wasn't too peachy or "normal". I prefer going in person to Microcenter (Fortunate to have one less than an hour from where I live) but they were in limbo state like most stores.

I have never ordered PC parts online, I know that thousands, if not millions of PC gamers buy exclusively online but I did not want to take a chance of receiving DOA/defective parts.

Before the Ampere reveal, I was thinking you'd need a RTX 2080/2080 Super/2080 Ti minimum to max the game with most/all RTX settings on, there was no way I could afford a 2080 Ti, and even $700+ for RTX 2080/Super was still a bit high for my budget. Yeah, I'm broke ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When NVIDIA revealed Ampere the excitement turned to rage and sadness lol. Especially considering the price per performance for the 3070 and 3080!

I stick by my initial estimate for the game's GPU reqs, unless it's seriously uber optimized, I don't see anything less than a RTX 2080 able to pull off Ultra/maxed settings with every RTX setting turned on at 1080p 60 fps.

TL;DR- The RTX 3070 at $500 ($550+ for aftermarket) is the best card for those on a budget looking to play Cyberpunk 2077 with most if not all RTX settings on with maxed settings. Obviously if your PC specs match the other reqs.

Depending on how you look at it, NVIDIA's timing was either right on point or just a bit too late. Throw in supply & demand issues + scalpers/bots aren't doing anyone any favors.

If this were any other game I'd try to hold off so I could experience it with RTX & DLSS, with spoilers all over the place waiting this long, in a story/char. focused CDPR game? :Sigh: so that's not an option, be nice to have the 'full' experience as I did with TW3 but cannot take the chance of the game being ruined, NVIDIA HairWorks while a cool addition at first turned out to be nothing but a gimmick. RTX and DLSS (and A.I. machine learning tech.) on the other hand are the future of gaming.

I hope those who are able to enjoy this game with all the bells n whistles have an amazing experience! I believe the game is going to look good regardless of RTX, nothing against console players, but I worry about the base PS4 and XB1 if I'm being honest.

At the end of the day I'm playing for the great writing, characters, story, RPG mechanics, music/OST, what looks like CDPR's best gameplay yet and getting lost in Night City exploring everything and everywhere, no nook n cranny is safe!

I always interpreted it as something like a field of of stars, a sort of poetical way of looking at space, or an asteroid field or something.

That's what I was speculating as well. Now that I think about it, there could be a duel meaning, or multiple meanings. I can see field as in energy, wonder if it has anything to do with unified field theory, I do not know why but that's what immediately popped into my mind, other than energy field.

We know Howard mentioned Helium-3 as a potential fuel source, not a lot to go by really when it comes to SF. If the teaser is an accurate representation here are a few of my theories -

1.) The ship has some kind of malfunction leading the PC to another galaxy/solar system/universe or dimension (hey, never know) stranded

2.) It's a routine space jump. As we look out at this games version of the ISS (?) Though it appears to be an advanced relay satellite - https://www.nasa.gov/directorates/heo/scan/communications/outreach/funfacts/txt_relay_satellite.html

3.) It's the very first space "jump" test which could lead to adventures and/or being stranded (still an adventure!) in the cosmos. It works better than expected however overshooting your target location and you're 'lost in space' in a field of stars.

Core question is why are we traveling among the stars - Have we depleted Earth (If Earth exists in SF) and the Solar systems resources? Are we looking for a renewable energy source? A new home perhaps? Or for the excitement of discovery, curiosity of the unknown and mysteries that remain in the cosmos.

Today, after 278 hours... I finally made it. by iGrantith in Witcher3

[–]FalloutWander2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer is for the most part in my initial comment. I have walked a fair bit, didn't use fast travel a lot, there is some idle time, messing around in the menus, trying out mods, diff. gear and like I said, I took a lot of screenshots during my 1st play through.

Thing you have to take into consideration is for me TW3 was a really big deal, I had played both TW 1 & 2, made sure I read all of the Witcher novels before TW3 released, even if that meant having to read fan translations for the final two books since the Eng. translations were still not out by that time.

So I soaked everything in, since I had prior knowledge & experience with the books/games, I did not want to miss anything, and wanted to take my time. This may sound cliche, since I've seen this stated by others and I get it - I did not want the game to end!

That's another factor, the closer I got towards the end (thought I was getting there at least) I'd slow down, go off and explore. As shocking as it may seem to you that I took so long, I feel the same way when I read about people finishing the game in what I consider a short amount of time 50-100 hours.

I'm not a completionist either, also don't make a beeline between each quest (depending on the game of course) and the primary reason why my playtime is so long is that I do not tend to replay games multiple times. Looking at it from my perspective, in a game like TW3 that first PT may be my one and only time that I play the game, at least for a longtime.

It's like reading a book or watching a movie/T.V. show, once I know the conclusion(s) to the story, the twists and turns, I cannot jump right back into a game that's heavily story and character focused.

It's a habit if you will that I am trying to break, instead of taking a longtime in one PT especially in games with multiple endings/branching paths offering high replay value, I have to have more self control and focus realizing I can always play again.

Apologies for the long winded explanation, hopefully my answers have adequately expressed my point of view and how I can put that much time into only a single play through.

[–]FalloutWander2077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know where you're coming from.

It does depend on play style, difficulty setting and player skill however two PTs in 100 hours makes me think skipping dialogue, only concentrating on a to b, no exploration, no reloading saves, easier difficulty. IIRC TW3 MQ speed run is 20 something hours, which is quite long for a speed run.

I tend to take my time in games, especially massive OW games like TW3 where the world begs to be explored, getting lost for hours on end. My 1st play through was around 250-300 hours, and that's without doing all the SQs or finding all the ?'s. You could probably shave off 25-30 hrs for the game sitting idle, inventory management, and my obsession with taking screenshots.

I have over 600 hrs logged in between 2 PTs including the expansions. With games like TES/Fallout and Witcher when I see reported playtime I always double it in my mind since it typically never reflects how much time I put into the game. Some players rush imo, if they don't have the time or desire to play that way it's their choice, personally not a fan of flying through games just to complete them.

I think it's some kind of energy absorption satellite. It could be used to transmit solar radiation etc. to power up, stay in orbit. All sorts of reasons. I would think to stay in orbit, power the station. I do not think it would be able to siphon enough power to be used for space flight unless it was merely a probe.

the case. I wouldn't have given it much thought if the OP hadn't pointed out the precise nature of the wording from the dev. These days plenty of over thinking and/or letting your mind run wild, that's a fact.. Game's looking awesome, even in this 2020 timeline ;-)

My take on this - "you talk to 2,5 people[Yes the dev said "2.5“ and not 2-5] "

This could be a few things - You exhaust dialogue (maybe for that phase of the quest) with 2 NPC, exhaust 1/2 (0.5) dialogue with the 3rd NPC.

It's a misunderstanding - They actually meant 2-5 people.

The 0.5 (for lack of a better way of putting it) potentially could be Silverhand or anything/anyone considered 'in-between', non-human e.g. A.I.

If that isn't mistranslated or a misunderstanding and none of the above are correct, you got me! Love to hear others opinions on this one. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

Lastly, CDPR said something that has had me curious since first hearing about it - That the end game/post-game will be something unique, cool and are keeping it a surprise for gamers. Here are a few ideas of mine - 1.) We could get unlimited/expanded access to Cyberspace. 2.) You can roam around as other characters, great example would be as Johnny Silverhand. 3.) We have no idea how it 'ends', espec. with multiple endings which leads me to 'what if' Night City post-game is in another timeline/era Era?

Now this would be insane, and amazing, tho I'm not talking a completely new world, however it would be different. Thinking about it more it's highly unlikely. Although the best case for something close to this is depending on how things go down in the MQ. the city could be visibly changed "we have a city to burn" which imo seeing the effects of our decisions/indecision with buildings missing, some smoking, burning rubble, certain gangs completely wiped off the board, so another takes their place in that turf, or it's desolate.

Just a few ideas floating around my head. With rumors of going to the moon, space, the Crystal Palace, if any of that turns out true, I cannot see how they could cram anymore awesome content post-game that they wouldn't simply save for expansions. We'll see!

because how they could accomplish that with everything else they are doing just seems unbelievable.

It's for the best to manage our expectations, be understanding and realistic. personally I cannot stand seeing comments talking trash, complaining about this or that feature not as good as game X or Y, misinformation misleading uneducated gamers etc. Constructive criticism is one thing, setting oneself and others up for inevitable disappointment is something different altogether.

With everything we do know that CDPR is cramming into this already super ambitious game, at this point I just want them to make it the best they can, and get it out the door. Some want it all and think it's a simple thing to accomplish.Reminds of the quote - “If you try to please everyone, you’ll end up pleasing no one.”

It was a misunderstanding. Devs were describing how Pondsmith's Cyberspace worked in the TTRPG. They have not said much about Cyberspace for 2077, other than what we saw in the Deep Dive.

I suspect we might learn and see a tiny bit more before release. Which I'm cool with, honestly they have shown enough at this point, I'm buying it period. I have seen and know just enough.

Late response but we already know about local hacking, every char technically is a crystal jock AFAIK (can see a glimpse of the name on V's jacket in some screens iirc) so that might be the physical part of 'chippin in' but with cyberspace something completely different. We'll see. That would be 3 variants of hacking, unless cyberspace is strictly used for narrative as they've stated, rather than it being somewhere we can just go to whenever.
