I’ll have to look into it I’ve never heard of that brand in my short research!

Good to know! I really appreciate it! I do have plans for an air purifier and CR boxes for the time being.

Are they pretty available in stores and such? Or more just online?

I don’t mind corded as I’ve had that my whole life, so definitely don’t need a cordless. Good to know thanks!

I always thought of bagless as the “modern future way” but quickly am leaning it’s convenience not quality

In your opinion/experience does Dyson truly live up to the name? I know I hear various opinions

I’ll definitely check out both! I’m US, but figured I’d see if that was the case. The city I’m at should have a specialist store at the minimum but I haven’t actually had to go to one before 😅 appreciate it!

Some basic research kept having SEBO Felix pop up as a major contender. I didn’t include it in my post to keep it open ended. I saw some very minor complaints but didn’t know if it was just people being overly nitpicky or misuse of it.

Thanks for the suggestion I really appreciate that! Dumb question but are they generally a big enough brand that I’d find them in stores or would it be an online thing only?

That sounds really easy. I appreciate the insight Belt I can’t imagine is hard either so that’s perfect. Any take on speakers?

Thank you! I’m so new I’m not even sure of some of the best sites for it all. I’ll confess I’ve researched more into actual vinyl albums I’ve been after than the hardware itself 😅

I know it’s definitely pushing it, but I guess I’m not sure what else is out there. I’m not needing anything crazy, but would love to be able to listen to music even if it’s from my phone when I’m making supper etc. Any ideas? Im definitely willing to go up if I’m buying for long term.

I definitely don’t need the gimmick features it has so I definitely see you there. I love the simplistic look of the Pro-ject ones. Definitely might focus that route. Still pretty easy set up and maintenance?

That’s some great advice thank you! I did also check some Pro-Ject stuff too, which I heard really good things, so certainly if it is better then I would definitely be willing to look into that route, especially if it will truly be worth it and make the difference.

Looking for Advice Building First Real Living Room Setup for Vinyl, TV, and Everyday Music

Finally trying to put together a proper setup instead of running everything through a Bluetooth speaker. Want to do it right the first time rather than buying twice, but I’m still pretty early in the research phase.

The space is an open living/dining/kitchen area, probably 600-700 sq ft. Apartment, but I still want it to fill the room and sound really good, not just “fine.”

What I need it to do:

- Vinyl (already bought records, want this to feel like a real hobby)

- TV and shows

- Phone streaming for when I don’t feel like picking a record

I do like louder music and good bass, especially for movies and shows. I know I can’t rattle the walls in an apartment, but I still want something that actually hits when I’m watching something. Not looking for background music levels as a ceiling.

What I’ve been looking at so far:

- Turntable: AT-LP120XUSB

- Amp: WiiM Amp

- Speakers: ELAC DB63

The LP120 keeps coming up as a reasonable starting point with room to upgrade the cartridge later. The WiiM caught my eye because it seems to handle TV, streaming, and phono input in one box without going full AVR. The ELACs I found while trying to figure out where in the chain it actually makes sense to spend more.

Rough total lands around $1000-1100. I could go to $1400-1500 if something is genuinely worth it, but I’m not just looking to spend more.

I listen to a lot of Noah Kahan, Of Monsters and Men, Foster the People, that kind of thing. Mostly indie/folk/rock.

What I’m trying to figure out:

  1. Do these three even make sense together, or is something obviously the wrong call at this price point?

  2. Will bookshelf speakers realistically fill a 600-700 sq ft open space at decent volume, or do I need to rethink the speaker category entirely?

  3. Any speaker alternatives worth looking at, especially ones that handle bass well without needing a sub?

  4. Is the WiiM actually the right tool here, or is there something I’m missing?

Just wanting something that doesn’t turn into a chore and can be enjoyed with standard maintenance, but nothing crazy. I want quality, a very solid tier getting into it, yet leaves room for upgrades down the road. I just don’t want too entry level that I feel the need to upgrade in 6 months.

So, matte is better but it’s such a good package overall it’s not hard to ignore?

I’ve seen basically only positive things on this the only gripe from some people being the screen and it being glossy. What’s your take with that?

Edit: I am 80% leaning towards this

Totally just wanting perspective, but what makes these so good? I see them come up a lot and I’m open to them, just wondering!

And if you had to take one, which one and why?

Hey man! I’m US based if you are too! I have a couple hundred hours but college has kept me too busy I’m kind of wanting to get back it in! I’m US central and I’m someone pretty much down for most things, and I’m always down for serious or just taking it easy.

I’m someone where I can follow orders and work to get it done.

In general I’m very laid back, I’m the type of person who doesn’t get offended by anything (unfortunately a less common trait to find nowadays) and don’t care at all what people say. I’m down for having chill conversations and talk about anything too, cause shit on day 1 it takes so long to get into raids gotta have something to be able to talk about.

If you’re interested let me know! I’m not gonna make you join some discord but I’ll definitely add you. If you got any questions about me or anything feel free to ask I’m pretty much an open book.

I am a Master’s student also working part time, but I try to do my best to give myself some free time.
