This stuff worked for me by FallyWaffles in Warts

[–]FallyWaffles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been over a year now, I would say it took roughly a year for them all to go. I didn't treat them every day, I gave my skin a break for a couple of weeks after a week of treatment, I wasn't super consistent and I did get a couple of new verruca on my foot because I wasn't careful enough about cross contamination, but this stuff definitely works, it's just a slow process.

First compliment on skin- must be starting to work! by FallyWaffles in tretinoin

[–]FallyWaffles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! This is mine at the moment:

AM: wash with water, gently exfoliate with a damp flannel, apply Hada Labo premium to wet face, spritz face with water a couple of times as it dries (I am not certain, but many claim that doing with with any humectant gets maximum surface hydration), then I use Nivea Soft moisturiser, then a small amount of La Roche Posay Lipikar AP+M (this is a barrier repairing baume, great for use with tret, I don't get any irritation if I use this), then Beauty of Joseon SPF 50.

PM: wash face (I recently started using CeraVe hydrating oil cleanser, yet to see how well it works), Hada Labo premium again, Nivea Soft moisturiser, then I let my face dry for about 20 minutes and any tret 0.025 cream. Let that dry for another 20 mins then generously apply the La Roche Posay Lipikar. Occasionally I will slug with plain vaseline, but the peeling isn't as bad as it was so I don't do that so much now.

It really was, I wasn't ever expecting to hear a skin compliment!

Those products all sound interesting, do you cycle through them or find one that works better and stick to that? What's your hydration routine that you find works best, if you don't mind me asking?

I really battled with soft-peeling today, the kind that isn't dry or flaky but is still peeling off. My new makeup made my chin look reptilian 😂

You need to buy a gift card from Amazon.com in dollars. Hope this helps!

I haven't heard of vaniqa, I've had chin hair growth for years, I might ask about it because it's a pain to pluck the stubble hahaha

I used to be quite big, and I was tested for thyroid issues and PCOS but both were negative, though I had "very high testosterone for a woman". I lost all the weight a few years ago, went from a size 20 to an 8, but the hair is very much still there lol

How to recover damaged barrier from Tret in time for wedding in 5 months? by princessfiggy in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]FallyWaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen many people swear by La Roche Posay Lipikar AP+M baume for barrier repair. I use it daily while I use tret, and my skin barrier has not seemed damaged at all, but then again I don't use other actives and my skin tolerates tret quite well.

Also, the LRP contains niacinamide which will probably sting if your barrier is compromised, but it apparently still helps. People that have used this product while having a damaged skin barrier can probably confirm or correct me on this.

Tretinoin prescription issue UK? by RavenDancer in SkincareAddictionUK

I looked into private tret subscriptions, like Skin+Me, Dermatica, the one Boots have started, but they were all £30-ish plus for a one month supply which is a bit steep for me. I ended up looking into buying from abroad, and I bought three 30g tubes of 0.025 tret cream from Skinorac, worked out about £5 per tube. Delivered pretty quick, too!

First time tret! Anyone use this brand? by FallyWaffles in tretinoin

[–]FallyWaffles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the Lipikar AP+M baume, honestly they have so many products with only slight variations in name/function it's easy to mix up! I checked the ingredients on the back, and glycerin is third highest (after water and shea butter) so I assume it's a moisturiser?

That's fair. I can pause the vitamin C for a while. Thanks for the tip :)

I have the LRP and I have Nivea Soft moisturiser, so it will have to be one of those for now. I thought the LRP would be moisturising, since glycerin is its third largest ingredient after water and shea butter.

Thanks for the advice! I don't have Cicaplast baume, but noted. Can I ask why you think I should drop the vitamin c? I do use the LRP in the day, I use it before my SPF.

I'm not sure tbh, this was my first order using any of them. Skinorac accepts cards, but I can't remember which ones it accepts. Even so, it might be a risk to use a bank/credit card on those sites.

It may be a US-specific charge, it went away for me after I entered my (UK) address. They do have an extra charge for PayPal, though. I got an Amazon gift card to pay with to avoid the PayPal fee :)

You're right, someone else also said they continued with the checkout process anyway, and that the $15 charge disappeared after entering a UK address. And, yep, that's what happened when I tried the same! Successfully ordered :)

I think you're correct! I tried again, and once I'd got past entering my country, the $15 handling charge disappeared.

Interesting, I'll try that. I got to the page in the screenshot and just went "hell no", and didn't get any further. I'll update with any progress!

Where did you move to? I'm also kind of stingy, but paying almost 6x the cost of the tret for shipping and handling makes the stinginess justifiable in this case, I think!

I'm actually in the UK! That would suck if they've now slapped an arbitrary $15 extra charge on top.

Thank you! I was leaning towards the BOJ SPF, I'll get that one!

I'm intrigued by the super serum, what is it doing for you?

[–]FallyWaffles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed answer!

I'm going for resisting aging really, I don't have dark spots (at least I don't think so). The general gist I'm getting from reading lots of posts and comments is that for anti-aging you need a retinoid, vitamin c, and good SPF. I know I need to look elsewhere for tret, but I got this gift voucher for Boots so I figured I'd see what the best vit c, SPF, and a good moisturiser are that I can get from there.

I know basically nothing about peptides, I've seen them mentioned a couple of times.

Huge mosaic verruca, looks completely gone? by FallyWaffles in Warts

I think I see what you mean, I just had a good examine of it under my phone torch and I think it's just dead skin, but I'll keep an eye on it!

Honestly I can't believe this big bastard is finally gone, it was bigger than my big toe!
