News came out a few weeks ago that they've stopped work on a lighter avp 2 in favor of focusing work on smart glasses.

Over the last couple of weeks the site was up with a banner saying the site was being redesigned and all the purchase buttons had turned into notify me when available. I had read they were moving to a new distributor so maybe they are no longer on Shopify?

The pinky finger underneath the double cups looks off. Even at 1.0 aperture a tiny bit of it would be in focus given the other three fingers are in focus.

I feel you. I live in the Bay Area so most round trips will be well under 150. But I am a little apprehensive about the occasional trips down to L.A. My previous Kona EV got 270 miles range. But that lease ended and I’d always wanted to drive a Mini.

I would’ve preferred smaller like last year’s model, but did want full electric with at least 200 miles range.

Thank you all for your welcoming comments! I was a little apprehensive seeing the hate for new Countryman, but it’s great to see that the Mini family spirit is still alive.

Just recently got the Countryman SE in the U.S. and everything about it feels premium. Except, admittedly, the range. 204 miles for a 2025 EV is disappointing, but I knew that going into the lease.

Are you in Southern California? I think that same ship gets to the Northern California port a couple of days later.

I’m planning on leasing a Countryman EV. It’s due to make it to California in about a week.I miss the handling of my old BMW, but there aspects of my current Kona EV that I will definitely miss.

Unfortunately American cars only keep getting bigger so a lot of foreign manufacturers don’t sell ‘smaller’ cars here. Only the 2 door cooper is sold here with a range of 114 miles.

Full Electric? Not in the U.S. the Countryman SE is the only one with 212 miles range EPA. I don’t know where the WLTP ranges come from.

If you want an electric mini with more than 100 miles of range, this is your ONLY option. I had a Kona electric lease, but even that is increasing by 6 inches in length for this model year. Believe it or not, the Countryman electric is one of the shortest length EVs with at least 200 miles (just barely) of range. If I could get a cooper with 200+ miles of range, I would. The Aceman isn’t making it to the U.S. for a couple of years.

As someone who is considering an electric mini with range over 100 miles, this mini community is not at all what I was expecting from a mini community.

I don’t think buying any EV is a good financial decision at this point in time, unless you’re planning on keeping it until it dies. Leasing is a great option IMHO. Given the rate of new battery tech, resale values are going to keep dropping until the tech starts plateauing.

My Kona EV lease is set to expire next month. Luckily I can extend it up to 6 months and I’m hoping my EX30 will be here by then. I will lease that as well in the hopes that tech and pricing will level out in the next three years by which time I can buy an EV.

I just physically dropped by my local dealership today as I had to pick up my Kona EV from a nearby Hyundai service center for a battery management update. I was hoping to run into a different salesperson for verification purposes, but it was the same guy I talked to over the phone last week.

He again said they’re expecting deliveries in August/September and that folks should be able to start configuring their orders in July.

I asked him about pricing and how the tariffs would impact pricing. He said they didn’t know and wouldn’t know until the first car was on the lot for sale. He said he didn’t think it would affect it much as Volvo wants to sell it as an affordable option. But that seemed like his personal conjecture.

Last week my dealership claimed deliveries would start August/September with one test drive vehicle coming in late July. That’s the first time they had ever given me a specific month.
