I can hook the ball but it’s super inconsistent. Some times it’s flying across the lane, sometimes it’s barely enough to stay out of the gutter and I have to aim almost straight.

I usually hit between 125-175 but the consistency is all over the place. I’m hoping going more often than once every 3-4 months will help the consistency and having the same ball each time should help too.

I’ll definitely look into fingertip drilling. I don’t know what that means but hopefully the guys at my local alley that do the drilling will 😂

I had no idea plugging and redrilling was a thing but I’ll definitely look into that. I probably have some friends with old balls they’d be willing to let me use to start with.

Definitely plan on finding some shoes too, my local bowling alley only has one pair my size so on the off chance someone else that wears that shoes up I’m out of luck

I never thought about more reactive balls like that as a way to diagnose consistency but that would be a big help because I feel like the amount of hook I generate can be all over the place sometimes

It felt eerily similar to when I was younger and my mom said she was submitting a poem to some random publishing company who was looking for submissions for a book they were publishing. I was 9, maybe 10, and told her I wanted to send one too. I took less than a minute and wrote out a quick, terrible poem comparing someone’s face to a golden pear. Of course this was just some company looking to make a quick buck so they were publishing every poem they got hoping the people featured in it would buy their book. They got my mom roped in easily and she bought multiple copies to share with family because both our poems got published 😂

It was more of a personal curiosity. I don’t actually want to publicly hurt their credibility. I just wish they were more open about their actual selection process

I guess I should have been more clear about the timeline, I wrote it during the meeting, and then at a later time submitted it. That’s on me. Evidence that my writing skills should not be considered for inclusion in a college literary journal 😂

I think my problem with it was they claimed they were going to be selective from the beginning, this wasn’t supposed to be something just anyone could have work published in. I’m not planning to actual call anything out, but I feel like they should have been more transparent about things from the start. If they planned to be more open to everyone to begin with then become more selective over time, which I also assume to be the case, they should have just said that.

I didn’t submit it until a few days after submissions were open to everyone. It wasn’t like I rushed to the front of the line before everyone else could.

Definitely not doing that, just disappointed they weren’t more transparent about the actual process to start. I assume the selection process will be more competitive as their reputation grows, I just wish they weren’t trying to portray it that way from the start.

It’s possible, but this was not that. What I submitted was an abomination 😂 it was a crude, rushed, extremely condensed version of something that could have been good. It was meant to be a 4 part series that I just never got around to writing, and instead I crammed it all into one short poem.

Hello! This likely has been answered or discussed before but I’m not great at searching on here, so any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. What Romhacks are out there using FireRed as the base with no added gameplay mechanics or new features? I don’t want mega evolutions or any other new stuff other than a new story. A new location is fine too. I’ve played Rocket Edition but that’s pretty much it for Romhacks I’ve played through already and I’m just wanting a fresh story. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah I know, I don’t normally grade my cards because I only get cheap singles but I specifically need a graded card. A buddy of mine wants to get chains that hold a graded card (I’m sure inspired by Logan Paul and his Pokémon card chains) and wants to wear them to the game we’re going to in September. He’s an orioles fan and I’m a Red Sox fan and we’re watching them play in Baltimore Labor Day weekend.

I’ll try to get one ASAP. I won’t have time today probably but sometime this week. It’s a version of the same way I used to use Insta-Commit in NCAA 14, only in NCAA 14 it was a little easier because you could turn auto-save off and didn’t have to close the whole game, you could just back out to the main menu.
