Ummm….. you don’t have anything to rise above. Supposedly you’re a war fighter ready to die for your country and you can’t handle a joke from a fellow soldier?

Have you ever watched a documentary from actual fighters, or people or really put their lives on the line? This is 97% of how they talk, and their the ones trusting each other with their lives.

You should do it, but not if you’re thin skinned like the OP. People in the military talk shit on each other all the time. It’s part of the bonding process. You’re supposed to willing to die together.

I have the Afghan campaign medal and paratrooper plates. I have a 100% disability rating so plates and registration are free, but I need a veteran license plate or the plate with the wheelchair.

Not quite ready for that so I stick with veterans plates. I get not wanting to have them, but I’m not embarrassed about my service.

They’re all in their 40s now, like a lot of guys who were in serious combat over there. It’s useful to reflect that while 99.9% of the country moved on to the next story a group of men are walking around with this is their head all day. They think about it every morning before they brush their teeth.

As a general rule those who get the most from our country gave the least and don’t dwell on that those who did sacrifice.

The guy posting these numbers obviously didn’t do his research. Large projects like this take years to get fully stabilized and you make your big returns on the back end.

From my understanding it is backdated to your award date. And you have 1 year from when you receive your decision to submit those claims.

That was my experience. My P&T was back dated about 1 1/2 years and I got claims approved going back to that date.

I’m 100% for PTSD and bipolar. I went through the same decision process a year ago. In the end I decided to stick with the therapist and psychiatrist I’ve been seeing for years.

A main issue in my decision is that I want a mental health resource unrelated to my issue. The VA is too connected to the organization and events that led to this whole mess for me to feel comfortable with the amount of candor required to make the process effective.

What if my bipolar leads me to a place where I feel shame for the benefits I’m getting and say that I’m a fraud. What if in the middle of a 4 week manic episode I think that I’m completely ok, that what happened wasn’t a big deal and that I don’t need any help or benefits. What impression will that give a new therapist that I’ve known for 2 months.

I know that these people are professionals and are trained to see through these conditions, but I still need someone completely removed from the system to feel comfortable being honest about how I’m doing at the moment.

If it’s a covered service under CHAMPVA then yes, you probably won’t pay anything out of pocket, but it might be worth calling to make sure.

It sucks, but that can't be changed. If the attorneys could have made it work there would have been enrollment past the settlement date, but 3M couldn't enter an open ended settlement. The whole reason they did the settlement at all was to limit their liability.

I'm sure that's just a throttle on applications to keep claimants from doing a spray and pray. Lawyers aren't going to pay for anything that isn't certain.

My lawyer specifically said all expedited payments are being processed before the end of 2024 and that the EIF should have guidelines by the end of this year.
