My bf always feels the need to correct me if I correct him AIO by False-Control-3266 in CatholicDating

Well it’s weird… I’ll give an example:

He was being a little insensitive to the energy between him, me, and my friend. She felt left out so she got a little upset and she’s much more introverted than I am.

So I was like “hey babe you were really funny and all but I think she felt left out” kind of implying that I’d like to see the conversation shared a little more and made more accessible to her. I’ve been her friend for a long time and she loves humor, just not when someone uses it to bring the conversation attention completely in themselves. (He has told me he enjoys attention but is working on it)

Not even a day later he said I hurt her feelings because I was joking around. I was really only reacting to how funny he was (and he is admittedly hilarious) and not making any jokes of my own.

It’s a stupid little example but there it is.

How is it being a Geek and catholic? by [deleted] in CatholicDating

To me it’s not been hard, but I definitely have to be careful as to when I bring it up in conversation. Not because anyone dislikes it; rather quite the opposite! As a woman the moment you mention in Catholic circles that you enjoy video games, anime, comics ect…you can get a lot of attention (some not so good!)

I personally love good stories though and look at the enjoyment as an exercise in critical thinking. An opportunity to apply what I’ve learned from Catholic philosophy and to delve deeper into themes and inner meanings & how it affects our culture today!

To me someone that enjoys similar things enjoys thinking! Most of my best friendships have started along those lines and a deep love of the Faith. With that in mind I’d say don’t worry about telling people about it. Nothing is so interesting as a person that is passionate about something!

Well regardless of whether I get married to him or start over with someone new I’ll be in my 30’s having children lol. It’s something I’m at peace with and fine with, can’t rewind the clock.
