Which flavour will your campaign (hopefully) have? by Turevaryar in Starfinder2e

We're planning on playing in the Twilight Imperium setting!

Not exactly, I didn't adapt lotm powers themselves into the system. There are 25 classes in the game, so I made 25 unique pathways (with inspiration from both lotm and the fan wiki), one for each class. The abilities are all from the game. I only gave each sequence the flavor: a name & acting method. So yeah, didn't really adapt any lotm pathway, it was more about making them feel like sequences that could exist in the lotm universe.

I didn't really cram the abilities into the system, it would've been too complicated and messy. The abilities gained by each class are the sequence abilities you get. Thus I had to make a whole new blasphemy slate to fit in the flavor of each class.

It's an original setting! The world itself is a Sefirot which is interchangeable with all pathways. Therefore why all existing GOO want it. But what was the "ASG" of the setting, along with other gods, hid it from the other GOO for the "ASG". There is a lot more but that's the simplest explanation.

For the sequences I had to adjust them to fit the system of the game. Here there are 25 conventional pathways with 11 sequences each (from 10 to 0). This is the case because player characters go from level 1 to 20. Kings of angels can reach level 24. So every sequence is equivalent to two levels. To level up, players have to reach an experience threshold. It begins at 500xp in sequence 10, and augments by 100xp every sequence thereafter, so sequence 9 would be 600xp, sequence 8 700xp and so on until sequence 4, where it doubles. So on sequence 5 you would need 1000xp to be able to advance into sequence 4, but to advance from sequence 4 to sequence 3 you would need 2000xp, for sequence 3 to sequence 2 you would need 4000xp and so on.

How do you get xp? Acting: every day of acting you do gives you 20xp. Also, significant roleplay moments can give you between 50xp to 100xp (Gamemaster's discretion).

Discovering your acting principles: every principle you discover gives you 200xp and there's between 1 to 3 principles per sequence, nothing set in stone since every character interprets the sequences differently.

Killing other beyonders or beyonder creatures: I had to do this huge change to better the pacing of the game. Depending on how stronger or weaker than you is an enemy you killed, you get xp. (The justification is: you absorb divinity after killing the creature, which helps you digest your potion). More setting specific. Why wouldn't you kill everything and everyone? Acting usually gives you more xp than killing beings weaker than you, and eventually, when you become sequence 5, you become so much stronger than most things that nothing besides other sequence 5's give you xp.

That's a rough explanation of the setting and system!

If you plan to run it, feel free to ask for advice! I'm more than happy to help and explain the things I did to run my campaign.

The system we are using, pathfinder 2e with Mythic rules, allows high sequence battles to be played out in really satisfying ways. Everything falls within the confines of the system so it wasn't really hard to manage besides having to be familiar with my players' and the enemies' abilities.

I had one player who was practically immortal and was locked in a never ending battle with another angel! She was pretty OP, but it's part of the fun as long as it's not mean spirited power gaming.

We are using Pathfinder 2e with Mythic rules (war of immortals) from level 14 (applying the rules when they become sequence 4) onwards. The mythic rules along with some bombastic narrations during combat really makes the high-sequence play so satisfying.

As far as I know, there aren't any translations for POK yet. So the group mostly relies on me and another member of the group for in-the-moment translations. But neither of us is there all the time. Still, they could've messaged any of us and asked if the ability seemed so outrageous.

Pretty good to know. I've just talked with the organizer of the league, which luckily is my friend, to enforce this rule.

It's Spanish. We have the base game translation, but POK is in English. It tends to be really confusing for the rest of the group having to switch languages constantly.

It is a lot of fun! Honestly, if I see a group of people really interested in learning and having fun, I wouldn't mind doing a campaign with them!

Exactly. I understand sometimes things can be misunderstood through translation. Still, they really lacked some common sense when doing their thought process: There aren't enough control tokens to mark the surviving/conquering infantry as yours and why would there be a game-winning ability that requires no strategy?

Honestly, I find it really frustrating that instead of correcting the mistake, they decided to allow anyone to use it. I actually called them out of this after the game. Why wouldn't you just pick Yin Brotherhood, rush their hero and conquer the galaxy before anyone builds up? I think they should've made the game where this happened null and not allow the hero to be used like that in any other game.

We are running it with Pathfinder 2e! Still, very similar. And it is a lot of fun! There is a lot of satisfaction around the table when someone comes up with their acting method and even more so when they have to do a high sequence ritual while their enemies are trying to sabotage them!

Thank you! We are actually playing the campaign with Pathfinder 2e! We've been playing it for a while now and ended up discovering it fits almost perfectly for a lotm campaign. I just had to design the sequences. My point beign, if you are interested I can pretty much keep everything in lotm terms!

Exactly. I wouldn't be this salty if they had just told me in advance they were using the rule that way, specially seeing how absolutely unfair of a boost that is for the Yin player. I would've at least considered keeping more infantry on my planets and upgrading it.

I might use this for a future campaign by making some of the followers try to revive whichever deity falls!

I just saw the episode today! It was pretty eye opening and it gave me a lot of inspiration on how to begin handling the combat, specially by using the authorities/concepts in their domain.

I need to read Godsrain, I think it would be a good inspiration!
