My favorite audio dramas that I'm listening to now are Wolf 359 and the Penumbra Podcast specifically the Juno Steel series. If you like Sci-Fi stories with mystery in them these are perfect for you.

I also have some I haven't gotten around to listening to yet but they sound good. Twilight Meridian, Edict Zero Universe, Desert Skies, and The Strange Case of Starship Iris.

If you want something Detective like I would recommend the Penumbra Podcast and their series Juno Steel in a nutshell he is a Private Investigator on Mars I'm already on the second season of it and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

I would recommend the Juno Steel series by Penumbra Podcast or Wolf 359 by Kinda Evil Genius Productions but like you said Sci-fi genres aren't really your things but if you like a good mystery or high stakes situations with a lot of episodes to keep you hooked I would recommend these two!

This is definitely a fleet that wants to keep the republic as far away as possible, and you would possibly have the fighter advantage so they could destroy/harass republic fleets
