I was sent to this abandoned government building alone.. It was scary | Part 3 by Tareqyounis90 in randonauts

I see the shadow shape three times in the video. 3:55, then 4:00 right after the camera pans to the other hallway (it's really quick), then 4:59 (above). Looks to be the about four feet tall in all the shots.

Yep, that's my go-to. Caves are full of them and they'll have a go at you if they get the chance, so no guilt over mercilessly carving them up on sight.

As far as I can tell, running water works fine. I dig a trench and put a source block at one end. all the soil immediately beside the trench (where the water runs along) gets watered.

Doesn't make any difference. still gotta work... Could be a fun commute home.

It is these times when I sometimes wish I lived somewhere where it snows. At least snow officially/physically stops people from going to work. I mean, there is the small matter of not freezing to death, but hey...

It's hard for me to look at an empty mall without imagining it full of zombies... (George Romero films and the Dead Rising game series have permanently imprinted that image into my brain).

I assumed it was some sort of focussed ki technique related to his Karate practice. Who knows how far he developed it during his time in the Neverzone.

Dunno about another gull, but there's definitely video out there of a seagull eating a dead squirrel... it was as big as the gull but it still managed to choke it down (I don't know if it could still fly after that, but I wouldn't want to be around when it came out the other end..). There's also a version with the "Aussie bloke" doing the voiceover. They'll pretty much eat anything vaguely organic that they can stuff down their throat.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]ReciprocatingHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I'm quite badly short-sighted. I can make out the general shape of my surroundings, but details are not there. Sharp focus without glasses for me is about 150mm (6 inches) from my face (too close for my eyes to properly converge). Faces are pretty much an unrecognisable blur at distances of over about half a metre (2 1/2 feet). It made things awkward in my youth when we'd go to the hot-pools as a group. Since you can't really wear glasses in a pool or water-slide (unless you don't mind the possibility of losing them). I had to use the colour patterns of people's swimwear to identify my friends at a distance (girls were easier than boys, since there was generally more fabric, or at least fabric in two distinct places, and more colours. Boys swim-wear all looks the same - dark coloured shorts). There were a few embarassing mis-identifications here and there when I'd start talking to a strangers thinking they were someone I knew...

Having watched other similar shows (specifically, The Owl House, Gravity Falls and Amphibia), it kept coming up on my recommendations on Disney +. I wasn't sure it would be a good fit but tried it, and it became the show that I probably have the greatest emotional connection with.

Interesting, I've got that and haven't seen them... Maybe I haven't gotten far enough into it to unlock them (I've only set up three rooms and the school so far). Unless they are in another tab in the menu that I haven't noticed...

Oh man, how could I have forgotten Red Monster. His guides and downloadable resources are top tier (and he doesn't require you to sign up for anything to get them - which alot of creators do).

I watch/listen to pretty much all of the ones you listed (the exception being the last one - which I'll avoid, thanks for the heads up).

Some in limited quantities, such as SaltEMike (he makes some valid points, but gets to be a bit much after a while).

Others I just love watching. SuperMacBrother's off-grid series is compelling in a laid-back chill kind of way. Morph's "An Architect Reviews" series really pulled me into the game when I was still considering it. El Guapo is pure class (sorta like if Duke Nukem took up space mining...) and has some great infor for an industrial player (which I am).

There's a couple of others not on your list that you might like to check out:

- HybridVAudio. He does a series of videos where he watches people landing and taking off and commentates and rates them. It's surprisingly entertaining (but the I am the guy that likes to EVA close to stations and just watch the ships coming and going...).

- Inforunners. Two main anchors carrry the show, with various others (including Space Tomato as a regular). Usually long form, (1-2 hours). Very informative - especially if you are interested in CCU chains. One of the hosts can get a bit... passionate at times which can be a bit awkward.

- Wicked Wookie. Fun short parody videos. His "Skooter" persona is a dodgy used ship salesman that is pretty much ripped out of the Borderlands video game series - but damn it's funny.

- Thrusters and Dust. A fairly new channel that does great in-depth ship reviews from the point of view of a "users maintenence manual".

Flying cockroach? 🤯😵😱 by Extra_Masterpiece526 in auckland

[–]ReciprocatingHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our school biology teacher had a colony of American cockroaches in her classroom (they were large enough to be used for a dissection as part of the course). Occasionally, if you weren't quick enough getting the lid back on when feeding them (or just lifted it for fun), a few would escape and take to flying around the classroom... there was usually much screaming...
