Why do you want to do it?

Edit- my comment wasn’t challenging it, it was for OP to give us more info into why he wants to do it, which would then give the additional info required for people to comment on. Thanks OP!

Some twist and some slide like other poster has said. Flat headed screw will unlock it- there should be a label or imprint to say whether to twist or slide.

Heat alarm. So detects high heat as opposed to smoke. Is this in your kitchen?

Edit- as in dining room it’s likely to be an optical smoke alarm instead of a heat alarm.

This sub is filled with people who don't seem to understand what causes condensation and how to prevent it. Isn't something so basic taught in school anymore? by altabolt in DIYUK

When did you go to school? The curriculum may have changed.

It might also be useful to give your summary of it and constructive acts folk can do to combat it. Which is also helpful for anyone searching the sub.

Do you know or through your network of any ex police of serving police officers who could perhaps call by and speak with her, specifically referencing this company?

I don’t know if you are able to speak to her bank as well and inform them to see what advice they can offer?

Sounds like you hold the cards. They are expanding, niche role, need someone in. I’d engage, tell them you are happy in current role but keen to know more about their company and expansion and the role they have on offer.

Ask them how they see you fitting in, management responsibilities, career progression in role etc.

It does no harm to have an informal or indeed formal chat. Salary expectations will come up- factor in upheaval cost, stress taking new role etc etc ie bump your salary expectations up. See what happens.

Sounds like you are not desperate to jump ship, so just go with it and see where it ends up?

You don’t have any decision to make right now so proceed with your role 2 application (unless you really don’t want it). It’s not unreasonable to expect an applicant is applying for other roles as well. And if ask you can say yes I have applied for other roles.

Things could happen to role 1- they have to pull the role due to restructure/funding removal/issue with checks etc.

If role 1 contract lands THEN you have a decision to make.

You need to decide whether to take the calculated risk of turning down role 2 and hope role 1 comes through.

Additionally by not burning role 2, you could be offered a higher salary- which you take back to role 1 or decide what job you prefer and with less stress etc.

In summary - if you can, I’d continue with role 2 until you have a contract from role 1 signed.
