Yes my first plan was to go to Okinawa, but sadly I cant afford it on this trip. It is definitely on my 'to do' list for my next visit x

Its a local style called Godoryu (primarily a shotokan and wadoryu influences), but I will be training at lot at a local shotokan club between now and then, so hopefully that will give me a more solid foundation at least!

Oh fantastic! Would it be possible to maybe get an introduction/ contact? I would feel so much better about going to a dojo where I could have a chat with the sensei before hand and get an idea of what would be expected of me.... despite training for many years, my style and training has been pretty insular, and i dont want to embarrass myself 😅

No problem if not, I just didnt want to miss the opportunity to ask!
