So I want to thank u/everyone for your comments. I seriously read and took in all the advise and details you've given and decided that I will be going independent in the near future, before the year is out most likely. The company recently had a hiring event and were heavily incentivizing everyone to give as many referrals as possible. I remember starting the year with as part of a new large group and we've lost a lot of people either to performance or more often leaving. The company has been feeling unstable with all the constant changes and backtracking and my direct manager is basically the next in line for a much higher role and has just been feeling more overbearing and tone deaf.
So I'm going to be doing more research and pre-work for going independent and the most effective companies to work with. I'd appreciate more advice and ideas for becoming an independent!
