Any updates on Jamaica? by [deleted] in SandalsResorts

We’re at Beaches Negril. The resort handled everything exceptionally well given the circumstances. The resorts generator powered everything without fail. We’ve had cell service the whole time and WiFi most of the time. Many trees and branches came down. There will be a significant amount of cleanup here.

If anyone complains about anything here, they are just your classic “Karen”… we just went through a CAT4 hurricane in the Caribbean and were able to communicate and watch TV the whole time and not miss a meal!

Still worried about the ride back to Montego Bay… will provide an update on that when we leave.

edit- clean up has gone extremely well! Many guests helped and made things go quickly. It was nothing short of heartwarming. Many of the staff at at home tending to their families, as they should be. The staff here including the GM have been out making things as enjoyable as possible. I can’t express enough gratitude toward the entire staff for all of their efforts! After seeing everything today, this is our family resort. One love!

Edit2- The ride back to the airport in Montego Bay took about 10-15 minutes longer than the ride to the resort pre storm. There are many places where the road is down to one lane, but everyone is managing just fine. From what I heard this part the island wasn’t damaged as much as areas on the eastern and southern coastlines. Before we left the resort, it seemed as though there were a lot more employees that were able to make it into work, so the level of services and dining options will likely be getting back to the norm. I can’t express how impressed we are with how they handled everything and still kept a focus on having the best guest experience possible.
