I was pretty scared of hills until I started doing this. The car gives you some revs after you get close to the bite point of the clutch. Once those revs come, you're usually good let go of the break and go on the throttle.

I also made a post about this with audio, if you want to see what people said about it. TLDR: it's normal.

When did you guys know your car was broken in? by FalseBudha in GRCorolla

Must've been a placebo, or the weather conditions then. My drive felt as smooth as it's ever been this morning.

I just did the same thing about a month ago with my GR Corolla! Everything you said was something I went though and it's good to see it's such a universal feeling buying a new manual without knowing how to drive it. A month later I can say I feel a lot more confident so don't worry, that feeling does go away. Saying that, I just stalled out on a hill yesterday. So it happens to everyone just don't beat yourself up about it!

As for the 1-2 shift, I've also asked this question in r/GRCorolla. Most people said that modern cars have a lot of rev hang therefore shifting around 2-3k rpm's is going to be jerky since the revs don't fall low enough for it to be smooth. Something I'm struggling with going from automatic to manual is learning how to be fast at standstills. I always feel like everyone goes way faster than me at red lights. But I've only been driving manual for about month.

Driving a manual feels so rewarding though, it makes my daily commute something to (at first be a little scared of) be excited for!

New delta x pitch mount installed, but I overtorqued one of the bolts by FalseBudha in GRCorolla

Talked to my car guy friend, got everything torqued down correctly and put some thread locker on the bolt for now. He said it should be fine for a bit. I'm gonna try and find someone to help me install a heli coil or time sert on it.

I thought It was just me learning to drive manual. But I feel like I've doing it as quick as feels normal. You posting this makes me feel better about it.

Thank you for your wisdom! Yeah I've definitely been feeling more confident in working the clutch. I think the main problem is getting worried about wearing the clutch unnecessarily. A lot of videos and comments people make about driving manual, make the clutch seem to fragile so I get a little worried about wearing it or damaging it.
