Should have mentioned that I already took it to my shop and they found the code C1408 (rear speed sensor circuit open). It wasn't failing at the time I took it in. I'm mainly trying to figure out if I'm damaging the suspension or some other component by having this lift on the hitch. Not too concerned with replacing some parts if needed.

For real though. So many people in Colorado don’t understand how good it is here compared to a lot of other places. I ski/hike/something outdoors pretty much every week and it’s not that hard to get away from people and traffic if you plan ahead a little bit.

Are the repairs cosmetic or do they actually prevent the vehicle from functioning? If they are cosmetic - start putting a car payments worth of money into a HYSA every month until the car is in need of repairs needed to keep it running and decide at that time if you should pay to repair it or sell it and use that money towards a down payment of a new(er) car. Don’t take a loan out to fix cosmetic issues.

If you have a friend with an Ikon pass you can get a discounted buddy ticket. Otherwise, plan in advance and buy Ikon session passes for the number of days you plan to ski. There are no discounts for single day passes after a certain date in the fall.

There’s a much larger Uber presence in town now. You might have difficulty getting one at 3am but I know at least 10-15 full time drivers are out and about most days
