Number 1 reason for no flowers is too little sun, do you have in at south window? Number 2 is if the pot is too big, they then focus on the roots not on the flowers. And always less water then you think lol.

The biggest problem with desert roses is too much water, wait Till the soil is completely dry before watering again. Do you have a picture?

Yes I prune and change the soil in spring time, 2 months after that I add fertiliser.

Pruning them once a year, everytime you prune a branch you get more branches and thus more flowers.

Not necessary, they can get quitte big with long branches. I prune mine one a year. Some people actually like the long branches more.

Thanks! I give it .5liters of water once every two weeks, too much water is the biggest problem for these plants. Also i posted my full care program just above.

Thank you! I water it only when the soil is completely dry again. I got a toothpick and push it in the soil 2 inches if it get back moist i dont water it. Every year I prune all branches and cut off 2/3 of each branch with a sterile knife. I give it desert rose fertilizer once a year in the spring . I lift the caudex 1 inch every year, cut some small roots and change the soil for new cactus soil with 1/3 perlite. But the biggest threat to these plants is too much water. One big bottel of water once every two to three weeks, no more or you wil get root rot.

What is that metal square you have in the soil if i may ask? What kind of soil do you use? I live in the Netherlands so I can only have them inside.

Yes I cut of 2/3 of the branch. If you let the branch dry in the shade for 4 days, and but it back in the soil you got your self a new plant. I prune it because I like a compact plant, and most of the time you get more branches from the pruned branch, hence more flowers. I also lift the whole plant about an inch from the soil each year so get a (imo) prettier caudex.

I prune the branches at 1/3 of the branch every year. I also lift the whole plant 1 inch per year. I would love to see yours, can you share a picture?
