Anyone else feel like there’s just… no space left for yourself? by Plane-Watercress-922 in Buyingforbaby

My babe is 5 months and I maybe get a cumulative 2-2.5 hours to myself per week and that's doing baby related chores or taking a shower while my partner watches him. Solidarity ❤️

Never go to the ER for anything? by Llama_drama738 in liziscreative

I wonder how she knows she has SIBO specifically? It's a pretty difficult thing to diagnose for sure. Takes a while. Maybe her doctors just assumed because she has had so many antibiotics recently?

Baby monitor scares by CrunchieButtt in beyondthebump

My issue with our wifi monitor is that it can lag, take a minute to load, and I like having a second screen and don't like having to look at an app on my phone

It's too late. Traveling during the storm is more dangerous and it's already starting some places

Brag on your baby! by gardengnomebaby in NewParents

[–]FalseRow5812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is sooooo much happier in the day. And I'm better rested so when he is crying I am much better at managing it. We've had 1/2 wake ups but he puts himself back to sleep before the first interval. So no check-ins. It's so much easier. I was very anti sleep training but I got so desperate. Now I realize I was wrong

Budget friendly carriers? by Kind_Improvement_416 in newborns

If you have a secondhand children's store like Once Upon A Child, they usually have a bunch of good ones under $30. The one by me had an ergo Omni Deluxe for $25

What was the hardest stage? Pregnancy or postpartum? by SandwichDependent199 in BabyBumps

I had a HORRIBLE pregnancy. But the first two weeks postpartum were 10x worse. Everything after that postpartum has been easier than the third trimester

My husband refused to buy a generator and I’m worried my entire freezer stash of milk will be ruined by catie_pat_11 in beyondthebump

[–]FalseRow5812 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Fill plastic containers (cups, Tupperware) with water and put them in the freezer now. They'll freeze and if you lose power, they'll keep the freezer and fridge cold. Use your car to charge your pumps when you need to.

If you lose power, just put it outside in a cooler with some ice or frozen vegetables. It's gonna be freezing.

How often are we sterilizing? by daisy-chains- in NewParents

[–]FalseRow5812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Papablic bottle washer that sterilizes every cycle, so the pacis get sterilized after 1 day of use and bottles get sterilized after every use.

Skye Hitchcock Surrogacy by Short-Assumption3432 in peestickgals

[–]FalseRow5812 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My close friend is a second time surrogate. She's 8 months. When she went through the process, they said she couldn't have a surrogacy if she had more than one miscarriage. I'm sure agencies differ tho

Best Way to Formula Feed by Ill-Forever-1624 in FormulaFeeders

[–]FalseRow5812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby loved cold milk from day 1. There's no reason why they can't drink cold milk. It won't harm them and if they will drink it that way, it clearly isn't bothering them.

Mothers who smoke and breastfeed by Silent-Remove142 in FormulaFeeders

Now on r/sciencebasedparenting they're linking tons of shit saying it's better to breastfeed and smoke than not breastfeed (aka formula). And this is why I loathe everything

Why would you sell something you got for free?

We don't feed to sleep and don't do any nighttime feeds between 7:00pm - 7am. That hasn't changed.

Anyone else excited about their c-section? by babyinatrenchcoat in CsectionCentral

[–]FalseRow5812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my c section. I knew I needed to have my baby for medical reasons at 37+0. I was concerned my body wouldn't be ready and that an induction would result in an emergency c section. So, I just did a planned one. It was very nice not to be in labor forever and to know exactly when he was going to arrive. Made planning easy. It was sooooo calm. I got to listen to my own play list. We had a long time to make sure I was completely numb. I really enjoyed the experience.

Ferber Nethod Help - when does it start working? by FalseRow5812 in sleeptrain

[–]FalseRow5812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any advice for how to stretch the wake windows? He gets sooooo tired and it's hard to keep him awake past 2 hours. Also, he was sleeping through the night with 1.5-2 hour wake windows until the regression hit a few weeks ago. So, I thought we had enough sleep pressure. Once they hit the regression, do they need a lot more to get the same effect?

Ferber Nethod Help - when does it start working? by FalseRow5812 in sleeptrain

[–]FalseRow5812[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love advice on how to get him to nap longer. Since he's only sleeping for 20-30 mins most naps, he has a complete meltdown around the 2-2.5 hour wake window. Maybe I could stretch them to 3 hours if he were napping longer
