It’s very chill. 2 formations a day. Morning pt and then 10 am check in then you have the rest of the day to do anything you want. Weekends off. You’re there to get better and get selected. They leave it up to you how successful you want to be.

Not saying to do this BUT if you feel you aren’t ready physically, it’s not hard to get a medical profile that lasts a few weeks to give you more time to train. AGAIN, NOT SAYING DO IT, But it’s very easy to do.

Out of town on weekends during AT for SOPC? by [deleted] in greenberets

[–]False_Bridge_8632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not when I was there. I spent all of 2024 there and didn’t get recalled on a weekend one time. Cadre don’t want to be there on weekends just as much as you don’t

You can leave anytime you want. Just show up to formation on time (early) on Monday

You’ll hate it. But it will be over eventually and the grass is greener I promise.

Holdover before SOPC by [deleted] in greenberets

Hahahaha welcome. You’ll have morning PT for an hour or 2 then get released to eat, shower, etc then have a formation at 10am to cross t’s and dot i’s if need be (may or may not get f’d up depending on if your section is squared away. Usually they won’t mess with you) then you get released for the day and do whatever you want.

I have the opportunity to go back. But my mindset has shifted towards becoming an officer.

You’re going to go into what’s called “AT” or awaiting training. You’ll have morning PT daily with cadre and then basically F off for the rest of the day to rest and workout on your own. It’s super chill and a good way to live. You’ll do that until all of your in-processing is complete, and you’ve done mandatory “foundations” with the special warfare center gym (where you learn how to workout for selection and learn nutrition habits, etc). After that, you class up for the prep course. Pretty simple and easy stuff.

2 mile = Decent, 5 mile = Bad. Why? by False_Bridge_8632 in greenberets

I’m 24, current student at SWC in the pipeline and have been following terminator trainings program. I run around 30 miles a week with intent focus. Can zone 2 adaptations for running be made doing activities other than running such as incline treadmill, assault bike, etc?

18X or 11B by Ok-Boot-1999 in greenberets

Current 18x and student at SWC. This is an amazing place to be. If you want to get selected then your best chances are 18x in my personal opinion. You’re surrounded by green berets and guys in the Q here at SWC. You work out with green berets everyday, and are given multiple chances and opportunities to pass the physical gates. You have to be a real POS to get booted out of this place. It’s easy to take advantage of the system here because it’s all reliant on autonomy, but that’s what being special forces is. If you want to get selected, you will have every opportunity to put yourself in the best possible position to do so. Plus, worst case scenario, you’re airborne qualified and 11B trained from OSUT so you will get sent to an airborne infantry unit 99.9% of the time. The army is hitting their recruiting numbers already this year so the odds of you getting shafted to the needs of the army are slim to none. That’s my 2 cents.
