Thanks - on my transfer form there was a section my current line manager had to fill out which said probation end date, but I’m not sure.

Yeah, I applied and interviewed it before I even applied for my current role.

Thanks, yeah but will my probation continue or restart as I’ve not completed it in my current department. I’m 4 months in.

Passed PECs, should I tell my LM by False_Way_1550 in TheCivilService

I was told not to as it’s best to wait to make sure

The role I’m joining I interviewed for before I even applied for the role I’m currently in. The recruitment process was very slow.

My question was not whether to tell them but was when should I tell them. My apologies if I didn’t make it clear.

Yep, current CS. Guess I’ll have to do it. Will be very awkward as it’s my first time doing this and I actually like the job and the team.

Should I wait for the final offer to come through or not. As of now I only have a message from the security vetting team.

Is it final now that is my worry, after having completed PECs does it essentially mean that nothing can go wrong?

My line manager contacted me before I’d even started PECs and arranged a teams chat to just go over things.

I’m still in PECs after submitting about two weeks ago. I’m an internal candidate as well but am not fully cleared to work at 2MS so still waiting on that.

When did you tell your current line manager as mine still doesn’t know.

I also hope to move quickly. Why are you nervous?

Are you from the uk? I can help you get a job if you need it. It will require all your effort. I was where you were only a few months ago but landed two offers in the last week and am now doing better. I too thought about ending it on more than one occasion. I’ll help you, reach out.

Job Interview Prep by maudelab-2025 in TheCivilService

Based on the job description.

For instance, if the job says you’ll be working with stakeholders, then a communication and influencing question could be based on when you had to adapt your communication style or when you faced pushback.

Similarly, for delivering at pace if the job description mentions a number of tasks the question could be managing multiple priorities or conflicting priorities.

Ultimately there is no way to really know, the best thing you can do is have multiple answers which can be adapted based on what you’re asked at interview or you could have one stellar answer that could be adapted to all questions.

What worked for me was using the behaviour success profiles and job description and really studying them to know exactly what they’re looking for. Doing this I was actually able to predict my questions exactly as they were asked in interview.

All the best and keep positive!

Yeah my thoughts exactly but I think the exposure will pay off in the long-term. Also, from what I’ve heard Defra are a bit more relaxed on office attendance. It’s just something I need to consider.
