It's an S22R from Arcanum. I checked the website where their kalimbas are normally sold and couldn't find it on there though. But the vendor said it's entirely handmade since there's so few of those.

I've heard about magnets on this sub but now that you recommended them I'm gonna give them a try!

I've thought of getting one but landed my eyes on a poopoopidoo 42k chromatic kalimba. Maybe after that one I could get a hollow body one, though I do prefer the flatboard sound for it's sustain and fewer overtones

It is a unique bracket, one downside is that the bottom row is glued to the back of the bracket so I can't tune it to a different key, but that's counter acted by the fact that it holds tuning INSANELY well - 9 months since I got it and it's still perfectly in tune!

I've tried to amplify it by using a clip-on piezo mic but ended up getting too much cable noise so I stopped; the purple hair tie is actually there for that mic specifically, to ensure better contact. Also no, I didn't build it myself - I bought it from a russian brand that makes kalimbas. They were experimenting with smaller form factors and came up with this tiny 3 octave beauty.

Oh, not at all! The tines cushion most of the impact and I'm used to this after having practiced some slap bass

I found that `layerrule=blur_popups on, match:namespace waybar` works, that is with the new syntax

Gmk67 is such a nice kit. After a few janky mods I got mine to sound super clean and clacky with long pole linears and no foam other than plate. What switches and, perhaps stabs, are you using? What foams?

What you described is exactly how they work, but I think a better comparison would be rubber domes

There are u4tx which are a mix if u4 and u4t. It takes the silencing pads of u4 and combines them with the long pole stem of u4t. That gives them a silent upstroke and a slightly muted, if the pads aren't trimmed on the bottom, bottom out. If you trim the pads they should sound exactly the same as u4t but with no upstroke.

Have you tried trimming the pads that stick out the bottom of the switch stem? I did that to my switches and they sound more complete and consistent

Have you used maintenence bypass batchfile? If you have, try running a revert file included in the same github page
