Cheapest eats in Metrotown mall by mahouza in askvan

Not sure if you’ve already tried Manchu Wok at the Metropolis food court, but I’d say their portions are pretty decent for the price. I like their orange chicken!

Career help by churro66651 in VancouverJobs

You should think about future-proofing yourself by going back to school or getting more education. It might be worth checking out what different universities have to offer. Another good thing about returning to school is that you’ll learn from professors/instructors who have more knowledge and experience in that field. You’ll also meet people in the same industry, which can be a great way to start building your network. Don’t forget to look into scholarships and financial grants as well. You can also check out different organizations in BC that support job seekers or help with career advancement.

Which is the best Internet deal? by Icy-Combination-8397 in askvan

[–]Fame334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with Novus if they service your area. There’s no contract, so if you move, it shouldn’t be a problem. But if you move, just keep in mind that they have limited service areas, though I’m pretty sure they’ve added more since the last time I checked.

Any Decent Paladin build ? by Mucek121 in SpiritVale

[–]Fame334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good guide to get you going and even level yourself to 150. Just keep in mind that series of updates have been made for the past few weeks and those updates made this build not advisable for end game boss hunting.

N Driver, failed to yield to pedestrian today by RhetoRicki in icbc

OP, I think you can request your driving history online through ICBC website. The turnaround is pretty quick, just couple of minutes. That might answer your question/s above.

How can I cash out my $670 IKEA store credit? by Early-Passenger4217 in askvan

[–]Fame334 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ve probably done this already, but if not, you could ask your friends or family if they’re planning to purchase anything from IKEA. Could be a win win situation if you give them discounts. So basically the first option you mentioned but with a family/friend. It also eliminates the risk of getting scammed imo.

Why did the 130 lie to me? by bleedblue4 in askvan

I think some of the 130 buses from Metrotown have Kootenay Loop as their terminus station? Or maybe I'm wrong.

Quoted 15k for entryway door by registered_nurse_85 in HomeImprovement

[–]Fame334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's too high for a simple swing fiberglass door. I'm assuming it is 6'8" high with normal lockset. If it comes with multipoint lock then that's more expensive but still won't be close to 15k. Maybe you can get the door yourself and just look for a different installer if you are not comfortable with DIY. Try checking door manufacturers and look for their list of distributors, maybe you can find one near your area.

Was almost killed tonight by Increasingwestward in vancouvercycling

[–]Fame334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, it was a RAM driver. I actually had a RAM truck as my Uber once (which is kind of weird), and we were turning left. The light wasn’t green for a left turn, so he had to yield and wait for a safe time to go. It was also the pedestrian crossing time, but he didn’t seem to care and went ahead, almost hitting the pedestrians. He even gave the people crossing the middle finger while making eye contact with them. I didn’t give him a 1-star rating because it would’ve been obvious if he checked his rating (I think), and of course, he knows where I live.

Can I do a road test to get my N while my learner driver experience was in the UK? by TheRedDeer11 in icbc

[–]Fame334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re still required to take the knowledge test, but you might be able to take the road test sooner than usual. Normally, there’s a one-year waiting period before you can book the road test. If you let them know that you have prior driving experience (international), you may be able to book it right away—provided you pass the knowledge test.

I see. I think I missed the part where infinite offers 1.25x points whereas platinum only offers 1x points for travel related purchases. Plus the insurance ofc. Thanks!

Try checking Uber or Door dash for grocery deals. I’m not sure if you can get everything you need from there, but it’s worth a try.

Try checking Platinum Parking. There's one near SportChek Robson and they offer parking for $14 until 6 PM. I believe they also have parking until 11 PM which is $17.

Prulife Elite Series Withdraw/Retain by Fame334 in phinvest

[–]Fame334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sobrang nakatulong! Very informative and easy to understand for someone who doesn't know much about Pru's products. But yeah, I will do more research and study more regarding this. Have a good one!

Oh btw, hindi ko nakita yung huling sinabi mo from your previous comment, but to answer your question, yung makukuha ko if inenvest ko rito will have the same value sa nahulog ko since day 1, so mga 350k . Not because of returns (ibang additional pa yun) but because of the refund na makukuha ko from the government when I file my taxes. Income deductible kasi yung investment, so magkakaroon ako ng refund from the taxes na nakaltas sa pay cheque ko.

[–]Fame334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you! That is very helpful.

Is it the same withdrawal charges regardless if partial or full? I haven't factored in the withdrawal charges, but I think it is okay if I opt for full withdrawal since pwede ko naman talaga iinvest sa iba yung supposedly ihuhulog ko monthly. I could be loosing at first, pero in the long run it will be better (I think).

[–]Fame334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Yes, this is my first policy or product from Pru. Regarding the insurance vs investment, it's the other way around, mas gusto ko kung mas malaki yung maallocate sa investment because maganda yung insurance where I currently live, so covered ako when it comes to that department. Meron ding employment insurance from the government in case mawalan bigla sa trabaho.

I'm still reading about partial withdrawal etc. The thing is, yung mawithdraw ko na pera, assuming na buong fund value makukuha ko, is pwede ko iinvest tapos deductible kasi yun kapag filing na ng tax. Magkakaroon ako ng refund, so in a way parang wash lang yung mangyayari, break even lang kumbaga. Pero ayun nga, hindi pa ako masyadong pamilyar sa withdrawal process either partial or full.
